The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23389808-reproductive-health-and-access-work-group-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recommendation<\/a>\u00a0comes from the so-called Reproductive Health and Access to Care workgroup, convened by Oregon House Speaker Dan Rayfield following the U.S. Supreme Court overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> in June.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The work group recommendations look to leverage community and university health centers to provide more information and potentially medication for abortions. That could include utilizing community health to deploy mobile abortion clinics and having college medical centers dispense abortion-inducing medications and emergency contraception,&#8221; Herald and News wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The workgroup, which includes representatives from All* Above All, Center for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood, Oregon ACOG as well as transgender rights groups, also wants to &#8220;use state unfair trade practices to go after crisis pregnancy centers operated by &#8216;pro life&#8217; groups offering alternatives to abortions,&#8221; according to Herald and News.<\/p>\n<p>The group published their recommendations in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23389808\/reproductive-health-and-access-work-group-report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">document<\/a>\u00a0suggesting\u00a0that Oregon, &#8220;[i]mplement a regionally diverse pilot for [Federally Qualified Health Centers] FQHCs interested in expanding reproductive health services to support abortion access through state funding. Establish a technical advisory group to assist with pilot design and administration. And, they have the potential to set up shop in neighborhoods or near churches. These abortion businesses on wheels often plan to set up outside states which protect the preborn child from violent abortion, and since the fall of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, multiple states have passed pro-life laws and 12 states now protect nearly all preborn children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Live Action News <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mobile-abortion-vans-churches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously<\/a> documented, in October of 2022,\u00a0Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLRSWMO)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/who-we-are\/press-releases\/planned-parenthood-announces-groundbreaking-expansion-projects-in-missouri-and-illinois-to-mark-100-days-since-roe-v-wade-was-overturned\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>\u00a0the \u201claunching [of] Planned Parenthood\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/100-days\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first-ever mobile abortion clinic in the country<\/a>. Will you join us in this life-saving work as a monthly donor today?<\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abortion Delivered<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/virtual-abortion-pill-dispensaries-expanding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual abortion pill<\/a>\u00a0organization\u00a0<a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justthepill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just the Pill<\/a>\u00a0is converting commercial vans into a fleet of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mobile-abortion-pill-colorado-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mobile abortion facilities<\/a>\u00a0dubbed \u201cAbortion Delivered&#8221; to perform first-trimester abortions on the road in secret locations and neighborhoods. They plan to eventually expand into committing on-the-road <i>second-trimester<\/i>\u00a0abortions at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The group currently operates two mobile clinics in Colorado and plans to build out its network of vans and deploy them in states where abortion is legal but surrounding states have banned the procedure, such as New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Illinois,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcaredive.com\/news\/abortion-mobile-state-law-roe-v-wade-dobbs\/627178\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> HealthCareDive.com in August. According to a report by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2022\/oct\/19\/mobile-abortion-shuttered-clinics-on-sea-on-wheels-roe-v-wade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guardian<\/a>, the abortion group previously had mobile units in Montana and Wyoming and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bustle.com\/wellness\/just-the-pill-julie-amaon-medication-abortion-pandemic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous reports<\/a> indicated the group is also mobile in Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just the Pill considered deploying its new vehicles in Wisconsin. And so that gives us some more flexibility to move around and meet patients where they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kunc.org\/news\/2022-10-27\/how-one-unmarked-van-is-quietly-delivering-abortion-pills-on-colorados-border\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KUNC.org<\/a>, &#8220;Just The Pill hopes to launch a procedural mobile clinic offering surgical abortions next year. To do so, they will need to find somewhere to park for hours at a time and are considering buying land,&#8221; the report claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mobile clinics will travel to parts of these states based on where the need is greatest,\u201d Amaon told Healthcare Dive. &#8220;Just the Pill\u2019s long-term plan is to operate 30 clinics around the U.S., with timeline depending on fundraising.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Following Planned Parenthood&#8217;s announcement of its first-ever mobile abortion business,\u00a040 Days for Life asked on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/40daysforlife\/videos\/1246953236096228\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook page<\/a>, &#8220;Would you have heart surgery in the back of a windowless van? How about getting your knee replaced in some guy&#8217;s RV? Of course not.
