Pro-abortion House legislators may be trying to sneak a vote through the House of Representatives on a resolution which would virtually eliminate state regulations on the abortion pill regimen.<\/p>\n

House Resolution 1434<\/a>, authored by Rep. Mondaire Jones, would “reaffirm” the authority of the FDA, as well as the Public Health Service Act, in regards to “State laws that inhibit access to or use of any reproductive health product.” Essentially, the bill would solidify that any “reproductive health product” (which is a reference to abortion pills) approved by the FDA cannot be prohibited or limited by any state laws.<\/p>\n

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, slammed<\/a> the resolution in a letter pointing out how dangerous this effort could be.<\/p>\n

“Rep. Mondaire Jones\u2019s resolution entirely ignores the politicization and woeful inadequacy of the FDA\u2019s approval process of mifepristone, the proven risks to women and girls as a direct result of taking these pills, and the desire \u2014 and the right \u2014 of lawmakers at all levels of government and medical professionals to protect the unborn and their moms from these dangerous drugs,” she wrote. “These reasons, among others, are at the heart of a recent lawsuit brought against the FDA to remove these drugs from the market.”<\/p>\n

She continued:<\/p>\n

An in-depth report published last year on the FDA\u2019s data on deaths and severe adverse events found that the FDA\u2019s data is \u201cwoefully inadequate\u201d in assessing the risks or safety of mifepristone. Incomplete and inaccurate data with miscoded events have left huge gaps in critical information. <\/em><\/p>\n

Still, with the data that could be found within the FDA adverse events reporting (AERs), there is evidence of at least 20 deaths, 529 life threatening events, and nearly 2000 severe events, including emergency hysterectomies and ruptured ectopic pregnancies. Equally concerning, the study indicated severe underreporting of a significant number of complications.<\/em><\/p>\n

It is estimated that chemical abortions net $300 million<\/a> each year for the abortion industry, which is likely why lobbying has been so intense to expand it across the nation.<\/p>\n
