On December 3, the same day that a Catholic student center in Omaha received a death threat, a similar threatening note<\/a> was found at Christ Community Church (CCC) in the same city.<\/p>\n

\u201cFriends, earlier today, CCC staff found a threatening note taped to an outside door at CCC. The note claims to be from the abortion rights extremist group, Jane\u2019s Revenge, and makes threats against our Lead Minister and the church relating to an\u00a0abortion policy\u00a0discussion taking place in the City of Bellevue,\u201d Christ Community Church told church members in a message, according to Fox News Digital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt least one other Omaha church received a similar letter. We take the threats seriously and filed a report with the City of Omaha Police Department, and are cooperating with their ongoing investigation,\u201d the message continued.<\/p>\n

Earlier that day, Students for Life president Kristan Hawkins shared<\/a> that the pro-life group arrived at the John Paul II Newman Center near the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s Scott Campus to find a note addressed to the Newman Center director Rev. Dan Andrews. The note stated that it was from the pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge and threatened to “shoot up” the center if a pro-life law were to be passed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis obviously causes us great concern,\u201d Andrews said of the note, according to the Star Herald. \u201cOur number one priority is the safety of our students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lt. Neal Bonacci of the Omaha Police Department told the Star Herald<\/a> that police are working with federal and local authorities to determine if the threats of violence against pro-lifers are credible.\u00a0\u201c\u200bWe take any threat of violence serious and will continue to do our due diligence to ensure a thorough investigation,\u201d Bonacci said.<\/p>\n

The church and the Newman Center are located about five miles from each other, according to Fox News. Students for Life relocated its event for the day, but CCC said all events would continue as planned with extra police presence. The Newman Center, which is a Catholic-affiliated student center also continued as normal but with increased security.<\/p>\n

It was recently revealed by the Crime Prevention Research Center that between May 3 and September 24 of this year, there were 22 times<\/em> as many attacks against pro-lifers than pro-abortion groups. In that time frame, there were 135 attacks against pro-life organizations and supporters and six attacks on pro-abortion organizations and supporters. Jane’s Revenge has taken credit<\/a> for vandalism and threats against pro-life organizations and individuals since the draft decision of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization<\/em> was leaked in May, revealing the end was likely near for Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In November, FBI Director Christopher Wray told the Senate Homeland Security Committee that about 70% of abortion-related violence since the Supreme Court draft decision in\u00a0Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>\u00a0was leaked\u00a0has been perpetrated against pro-life groups. These attacks include vandalism and firebombs. Though numerous pro-lifers have been\u00a0prosecuted<\/a>\u00a0despite an overall\u00a0lack of violence<\/a>\u00a0on their part, there has only been one report of a\u00a0single<\/a>\u00a0federal investigation into pro-abortion violence despite the large increase in incidents.<\/p>\n
