In addition to helping women find prenatal care and pregnancy assistance, the campaign has also begun saving the lives of children who were carried by abortion-minded women.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12854\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/dreamstime_xs_19503756.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12854\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12854\" alt=\"ultrasound\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/dreamstime_xs_19503756-300x200.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/dreamstime_xs_19503756-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/dreamstime_xs_19503756.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12854\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">File photo: Woman holds up ultrasound image of unborn child.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>One baby in particular has an unusual and quite amazing story. He or she has survived not one, but <i>two <\/i>attempts at being chemically aborted. The <a href=\"\/news\/ru-486-reversal-gives-hope-to-women-who-change-their-minds\/\">RU-486 process<\/a> involves two pills: one deprives the fetus of oxygen and nutrition, while the other expels the baby from its mother\u2019s womb. In the case of this miraculous baby, neither pill did its job either time &#8211; a\u00a0<em>felix culpa <\/em>indeed.<\/p>\n<p>An RN who manages a pregnancy assistance bus outside an abortion facility where the 40 Days for Life campaign is present recalled the story:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Earlier this week\u00a0a young lady came to the bus thinking that she might be pregnant.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that she had taken the pills (RU 486) to abort a baby in December\u00a0at 4 weeks pregnant, and then took more pills\u00a0in January\u00a0two weeks later because the repeat pregnancy test showed a weak positive. Then on January 10th it\u00a0was negative.\u00a0 This was all done in a certain abortion facility.<\/p>\n<p>The test in\u00a0our bus this week was positive.\u00a0The ultrasound we performed showed that she was 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant and\u00a0she became very angry.\u00a0She\u00a0realized that they had taken her money, and had lied to her.\u00a0She did not want the baby because she does not like the father of the baby, who she says raped her.\u00a0 She was very conflicted about the size of the baby, saying that she could handle taking a pill, but she could not handle going through a procedure.<i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thanks to the attention of the nurse who followed up repeatedly, and the prayers of the many 40 Days for Life participants, this mother has decided to carry her pregnancy to term. The ultrasound image of her baby\u2019s little beating heart and fetal movements won over <i>her <\/i>heart, and we look forward to many stories like this one before the 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a040 Days for Life Campaign reaches its conclusion this spring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pre-born babies fight to live.
