The outlet used the term \u201cfetuses\u2019\u201d in the headline but started the article by describing how \u201cparticles inhaled by pregnant mothers can make their way into the tissues and organs of developing fetuses.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presumably, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/health\/-new-study-finds-air-pollution-enters-fetuses-lungs-brain-utero-rcna51125\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is using the term &#8220;mother&#8221; in reference to the relationship to the preborn child rather than those that are born. Will you join us in this life-saving work as a monthly donor today?<\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">These images from researchers show that babies in the womb can possibly react to flavor. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RVB7DsXNoc\">pic.twitter.com\/RVB7DsXNoc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; TODAY (@TODAYshow) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TODAYshow\/status\/1572935961482522626?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 22, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pro-abortion outlet Salon similarly ran a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2022\/10\/13\/air-pollution-fetus\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">headline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Oct. 13 declaring that \u201cFor the first time, researchers find that air pollution is making its way into unborn babies.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the article\u2019s paragraphs described the impact on \u201cunborn infants\u201d and how \u201ceven before drawing their first breath, babies are being exposed to air pollution.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/brucelee\/2022\/10\/09\/toxic-air-pollution-particles-can-get-into-fetus-brains-lungs-livers-says-new-study\/?sh=62dd4a9fefc1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forbes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, meanwhile, published a contributor article with a headline that warned about particles entering \u201cfetus brains, lungs, livers.\u201d It ended by warning that air pollution can potentially affect the health of \u201cyour unborn child.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The articles come amid a broader debate about the humanity of preborn children and how that impacts abortion policy. Media outlets have used language that overlooks or ignores that the \u201cfetuses\u201d being aborted are preborn children. In 2020, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/cnn-fetus-that-was-born-abortion-survivor\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CNN notably<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> used the phrase, \u201cfetus that was born\u201d to describe a baby who survived an abortion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recent coverage of pollution largely focused on the brains and livers of preborn children. According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/ency\/article\/002398.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Library of Medicine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NLM), babies\u2019 brains and spinal cords begin to develop at just five weeks of gestation. Between 11 and 18 weeks, the liver begins producing red blood cells, and the liver and pancreas produce secretions.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lungs start forming at just eight (8) weeks with lower airways developing at 23-25 weeks. By week 26, the baby\u2019s air sacs are forming and rhythmic breathing movements occur between weeks 31-34.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This story regarding potential environmental dangers to preborn children came amid pro-abortion questions about the heart\u2019s existence early in pregnancy, with at least one political figure arguing that heartbeats are \u201cmanufactured\u201d at six weeks in order to oppress women.
