Imagine no more.<\/p>\n

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who called for a \u201ccrackdown\u201d on pro-life pregnancy resource centers in a Senate\u00a0speech<\/a>\u00a0on Aug. 4,\u00a0is now\u00a0spearheading<\/a>\u00a0a new assault\u00a0on those agencies because they don\u2019t\u00a0support her radical position of abortion with no restrictions right up to birth.<\/p>\n

Just as disturbingly,\u00a0Warren\u2019s\u00a0assault comes as some in the executive\u00a0branch ignore criminal\u00a0violence committed against\u00a0lawful charities that millions of women rely\u00a0on.<\/p>\n

Warren and six other\u00a0Democratic senators\u00a0<\/a>have\u00a0launched\u00a0an unfounded and illegitimate inquiry against\u00a0Heartbeat International,\u00a0the\u00a0world\u2019s\u00a0largest network of\u00a0pro-life\u00a0pregnancy care centers, with locations in every state and dozens of foreign countries.<\/p>\n

These\u00a0community-based\u00a0organizations\u00a0have\u00a0a\u00a0proven track record<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0successfully\u00a0helping women with unplanned pregnancies for decades. They have labored ceaselessly, and at little to no taxpayer expense, to\u00a0provide\u00a0hope when there was nowhere else to turn\u2014including\u00a0in the very states and communities these seven senators represent.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0three-page letter<\/a>, led by Warren,\u00a0featured a litany of questions about\u00a0adherence to medical\u00a0record-keeping and data storage\u00a0laws\u00a0with no\u00a0credible grounds for attacking.<\/p>\n

Heartbeat International\u2019s calm and clear-headed\u00a0response<\/a>\u00a0treated the letter as nothing more than a \u201cstunt\u201d for political gain:<\/p>\n

What we do is safe, secure, and legal. Heartbeat has been providing help for more than [50] years and never once did we receive any of these questions or concerns until recently, and then from those with a clear abortion agenda.<\/em><\/p>\n

Missing from\u00a0Warren\u2019s letter\u00a0was any\u00a0concern about, or even acknowledgment of<\/a>, the more than\u00a065\u00a0acts of violence<\/a>\u00a0committed against\u00a0pregnancy care centers<\/a>, including\u00a0vandalism, firebombings<\/a>, and other attacks<\/a>,\u00a0since the May 2 leaking of the draft opinion of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n

Those attacks have\u00a0interrupted\u00a0care for the 2 million women, men, and youths served at life-affirming pregnancy centers\u00a0annually\u00a0and have put the integrity and safety of their patient records at risk of destruction\u00a0or compromise.<\/p>\n

Noxious as the senators\u2019 harassment letter is, it\u2019s equally\u00a0unwise as the political maneuver that it is.<\/p>\n

Americans disagree about aspects of the abortion issue, but only a handful of radicals are opposed to women receiving free ultrasounds, baby furniture, clothing, supplies, parenting classes, and\u00a0access to\u00a0an incalculably valuable network of love and support.<\/p>\n

In the United States, national studies<\/a> have measured the impact of 2,700 of the nearly 3,000 total centers from anonymized and aggregate data.<\/p>\n

Upward of 86% provide\u00a0free,\u00a0evidence-based prenatal and parenting education to women and couples.\u00a0Eight\u00a0in 10 provide\u00a0free pregnancy-confirmation ultrasounds, which communicate scientific truth about the lives of unborn children\u00a0and the safety of the mother,\u00a0and\u00a094% provide\u00a0direct material assistance to mothers.<\/p>\n

In addition,\u00a01\u00a0in\u00a04\u00a0provide testing for sexually transmitted disease as well as childbirth classes, and\u00a01\u00a0in\u00a05 offer breastfeeding consultations.<\/p>\n

The centers provide\u00a0all of this care with the assistance of more than 10,000 licensed medical professionals and 54,000 volunteers. (Eight in\u00a010 workers at centers are volunteers.)<\/p>\n

Low- and no-cost\u00a0support and health care\u00a0like this\u00a0are emboldening and empowering women, strengthening parents and families, and,\u00a0yes, have saved\u00a0more than 800,000\u00a0children\u2019s lives<\/a>\u00a0nationwide\u00a0just since\u00a02016.<\/p>\n

While pregnancy care centers are a long-standing force for good in American communities, these seven Democratic senators have shown they will do almost anything to\u00a0quash alternatives to\u00a0abortion with no restrictions until birth.<\/p>\n

What these seven elected officials\u00a0should\u00a0do is take a step back\u00a0from partisan invective\u00a0and actually visit a pregnancy care center in their own state.\u00a0By talking with the very women and families whose lives have been changed for the better\u00a0by\u00a0visiting\u00a0a\u00a0center, they will find goodwill and excellence in care that reach far beyond the value of Big Abortion\u2019s dollars.<\/p>\n

Visiting a pregnancy resource center, rather than launching screeds by mail,\u00a0would be a lovely and enlightening thing to do.<\/p>\n
