She and her boyfriend had already broken up, but she hoped he\u2019d support her. She writes in her book, \u201cMy confusion of what love meant caused me to believe that when I told the father of my baby, he might tell me he loved me and would want to make everything right.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead, he suggested abortion. He gave her money to pay for it, and she never heard from him again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ann was 10 weeks pregnant when she went to the abortion facility. Her baby was fully formed and already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/movies.php?mov_id=44\">right<\/a> or left-handed. Her child had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/movies.php?mov_id=228\">fingerprints<\/a> different from those of any person who ever lived. He\u2019d had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/movies.php?mov_id=33\">brain waves<\/a> for a month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/turnaway-study-takedown-video-debunks-denied-abortion\/\">The Turnaway Study Takedown: Video debunks \u2018research\u2019 claiming women suffer when denied abortion<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bHe8YGPGzj4\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ann wanted to know if the abortion would hurt, if it would make her infertile, and if the baby would feel pain. She writes, \u201c[The abortion \u201ccounselor\u201d] knew exactly how to answer me in order to put my mind at temporary ease.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ann recalls:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She asked if I had ever been around chickens. I grew up on a farm and we raised chickens, so \u201cyes\u201d was my answer. She added that at this stage, the \u201cembryo\u201d was no different than a chicken egg.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When she asked if I had ever cracked open an egg and seen the little white glob attached to the yolk, I said \u201cyes.\u201d Her description was to tell me that was exactly what the \u201cembryo\u201d looked like. There was no life, no movement and there was nothing to resemble a baby\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">[M]y brain kept trying to convince my heart\u2026 all I was doing was throwing away a bad egg.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abortion workers told her nothing about the abortion procedure. When Ann woke from the anesthesia, she wondered, \u201cHow did they do it? Did they cut me?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She realized she was bleeding and thought \u201cI didn\u2019t know I would bleed&#8230; What else had I not been told?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hi-Kc5HLHP8\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After her abortion, Ann threw herself into her career, using work to cope. She was successful, but says, \u201cNo one would ever know that with every step up the ladder of success, I was sliding down a painful slope of regret.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Things got even worse when she married and started a family. She suffered severe depression after the birth of her first child. She says, \u201cI was suffering trauma in the midst of what should have been the most glorious experience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was diagnosed with postpartum depression but believes abortion trauma was the real cause of her suffering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ann kept her abortion a secret. But she continued to struggle:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twenty years after my abortion, my life was right back where I started. A mess. My marriage was falling apart. My kids were hurting\u2026 I was in the middle of hell on earth&#8230; My wound had not healed. Pain and destruction left me broken.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She began going to church and through prayer, faith, and her husband\u2019s support, found healing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, when she tells her story, women and men tell her about their abortions. She says, \u201cI hear the stories never told, through a flood of tears, eyes filled with pain.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A friend in her mid-60s began to cry when Ann told her about her abortion. The woman confessed that she\u2019d paid for her daughter\u2019s and granddaughter\u2019s abortions.
