Two winners were crowned Mr. and Miss India with Down Syndrome as part of a historic pageant that took place last month.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the <\/span>Indian Express<\/span><\/a>, the event took place in Raipur from Sept. 15-17 and featured 15 finalists from a selected shortlist of 40 within India.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unnathi Surana, 16, and Sharan Delhivala, 21, reportedly won the top spots while 8-year-old Khushi Shah won the titles of Miss Confident Smile and Miss Talent. The contestants underwent one-on-one sessions with special educators before competing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Express<\/span><\/a> noted that the event was scheduled to include a ramp walk, a talent show, and speeches by contestants.<\/span><\/p>\n
