AMAZE<\/a> is a website backed by Planned Parenthood filled with cartoon \u201csex-ed\u201d videos designed to sell sex to children as young as 10. Live Action News has previously covered<\/a> their semi-pornographic content, which includes heavy promotion of contraception and white-washing of abortion, as well as tacit endorsement<\/a> of sex between adults and children.<\/p>\n

AMAZE has a new video<\/a> called \u201cAbortion With Pills: What Is It?\u201d The website was initially created by Advocates for Youth, which is also backed by Planned Parenthood. AMAZE is also frequently promoted by Planned Parenthood to children across the country, while AMAZE likewise refers<\/a> to Planned Parenthood for talking points and tips for sex-ed directed towards children.<\/p>\n

In the new video, a giant purple blob named Sam acts as the narrator, dispensing a sanitized depiction of chemical abortion, as well as telling kids how to get abortion pills \u2014 without a doctor or parental involvement. Speaking to \u201ca trusted adult\u201d is only mentioned as an afterthought; parents specifically are never mentioned.<\/p>\n

The video inaccurately depicts a preborn child as a tiny red dot, and euphemistically refers to the developing baby as merely \u201cthe contents of the uterus\u201d or \u201cthe pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n

It also glosses over the actual experience of using the abortion pill, saying simply, “For some people, this might feel like a very heavy period. For others, it will be an intense experience with intense cramping.”<\/p>\n

Women who have actually taken the abortion pill, however, describe<\/a> the experience as intensely painful and traumatic<\/a> \u2014 and some women lose so much blood, their bathrooms are left looking \u201clike a slaughterhouse<\/a>.\u201d Neither these realities \u2014\u00a0nor the fact that a mother may see<\/a> her developing child in the toilet after a chemical abortion \u2014\u00a0are ever alluded to in the AMAZE video.<\/p>\n

Another way the video misinforms is by claiming chemical abortions (and, specifically, \u201cself-managed\u201d abortions) are \u201csafe and effective,\u201d and that \u201cmedical risks are extremely rare.\u201d<\/p>\n

In reality, the abortion pill has been found to be four times more dangerous<\/a> for women than surgical abortion. About 6%<\/a> of women who take the abortion pill will require emergency treatment for complications afterward.<\/p>\n
