She told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ugAtbl73xD4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shout My Story<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cAs I found out that I was pregnant, I was basically a single mom. I barely had somewhere to stay, I didn\u2019t have an address to my name. Here it comes, you know, not just one baby that I\u2019m fixing to have \u2014 it was three.\u201d The mom of two older children \u2014\u00a0a daughter and a toddler son \u2014\u00a0Ivy felt unequipped to care for another child, let alone three children at one time. \u201cIn my mind, I just couldn\u2019t pinpoint to be able to take care of these babies. I love my other two babies like crazy. For me, fixing to have triplets, it was a big stop on my life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ugAtbl73xD4\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abortion-minded out of desperation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Struggling financially and feeling alone, Veltaasia felt abortion was her only option. \u201cI honestly was not going to keep them. I had it in my mind deep down inside that I couldn\u2019t do it. I didn\u2019t have no help [sic].\u201d That\u2019s where a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/yelp-pregnancy-resource-centers-warning-bias\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pregnancy resource center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Southside Women\u2019s Services in a Chicago suburb, stepped in. \u201cI came to Southside straight abortion-minded. What changed my mind was, I talked to the counselor and [she was] you know, very encouraging. They also told me \u2018you\u2019re not going to be alone. If you need anything, reach out to us for anything.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That encouragement and support made all the difference for Ivy as she began to imagine the possibility of parenting her three preborn children. Her heart especially became more open after her eight-year-old daughter found the ultrasound images from the sonogram her mom had at Southside and rejoiced to hear the news of her siblings on the way. Ivy then began to feel excitement underneath all the fear and uncertainty she initially felt. \u201cThe joy on her face, you know, made me excited.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She continued, \u201cAnd then, as time went, I was amazed. I\u2019m really carrying three babies. I would go to the doctor and I would see them on the screen and it was so beautiful. It was so beautiful that I got more happier, to even praise, to carry these babies. I\u2019m thanking God that I had my babies.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>An unexpected turn of events<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sadly, Ivy\u2019s doctor offered her the option of \u201cselective reduction,\u201d aborting one baby in an attempt to make caregiving for the other two more manageable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThey offered to do the abortion because they felt that maybe I couldn\u2019t handle three. They offered \u2018You know, are you able to take on this task? Maybe, if you can\u2019t keep three, you can keep the two.&#8217;\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnancy-centers-attacked-glowing-reviews-women-helped\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Pregnancy centers attacked by pro-abortion terrorists have glowing reviews from women they helped<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The doctor\u2019s \u201coffer\u201d reflects a devastating cultural mindset that sees eliminating innocent lives as the best way to eliminate hardship, and targets innocent preborn people for death rather than seeking to alleviate the desperate circumstances of their parents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ivy, while initially taken aback, adamantly refused abortion. \u201cI wasn\u2019t with it at all because you\u2019re taking a life away right before my eyes. [The doctor\u2019s suggestion] was hurtful, but\u2026 I decided to keep all three of my babies.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Her babies are blessings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ivy welcomed Ryan, Rhiann, and Rain into the world prematurely, and visited them every single day of their neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) stay. \u201cLooking at them in the NICU with a lot of tubes, that hurt my heart to see. But again, that was still a blessing, because my babies were alive, breathing, and getting healthy. I was very, very, very proud of them. To this day, I\u2019m very proud of them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI definitely have a challenge of having my babies, all five of them. A lot of people will ask me, \u2018how do you do that? How do you maintain? How do you carry? What do you do?\u2019 All I can say is, \u2018Prayer. Prayer really works.&#8217;\u201d She also credits the help of her older daughter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Words for other abortion-minded women<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf I had to sit with someone [considering abortion], I would really encourage them to love on yourself. You have to love yourself before you can give love. So once you love on yourself, give it to your baby. Encourage yourself to just say \u2018this is my baby.\u2019 You know, make it where you know that you have riches. We might not have the money, but you\u2019re rich.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ivy\u2019s story of strength and overcoming is just one among many that occur across the country every day. Amidst societal and, sometimes, even medical professional pressures telling women they can\u2019t, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/five-year-800000-lives-saved-pregnancy-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pregnancy resource centers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> walk alongside women, showing them that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">they can<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
