Superstar songstress Beyonc\u00e9 Knowles, aka Mrs. Shawn Carter, probably\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0realize it, but her new documentary, Life is but a Dream<\/i>, is doing a serious disservice to Barack Obama\u2019s pro-choice agenda. During the 2012 campaign, pop star\/Obama BFF Beyonc\u00e9 hosted a $40K-a-plate<\/a> campaign fundraiser for the president at Jay-Z\u2019s exclusive 40\/40 Club. She and stage mother Tina Knowles even designed<\/a> a t-shirt to raise money for Runway to Win.<\/p>\n

\"Beyonce\"Then, barely a month after she proudly lip-synched<\/a> her way through The Star-Spangled Banner at the president\u2019s inauguration, Beyonc\u00e9 debuted in a self-directed, self-produced 90-minute<\/a> “look at me, I\u2019m Queen B” HBO documentary<\/a> about herself. <\/i>The two things the HBO Beyonc\u00e9-mentary confirmed were that Beyonc\u00e9 thinks very highly of herself and that although she identifies with the likes of Barack Obama, when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth, she\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0toe the liberal pro-choice line.<\/p>\n

In fairness, it is possible that Beyonc\u00e9\u00a0isn’t\u00a0aware of how her lamenting a miscarriage and admission that hearing a baby\u2019s heartbeat in the womb is \u201cthe most beautiful music [she] ever heard in [her] life\u201d could negatively affect Barack\u2019s anti-Born Alive Act ideology. After all, Beyonc\u00e9 did dance up a storm in a Michelle-inspired “Move Your Body<\/a>\u201d video and then went on to sign a $50-million<\/a> deal with PepsiCo, apparently without a thought as to how becoming the face of Pepsi could undermine Michelle Obama\u2019s \u201cLet\u2019s Move\u201d-away-from-sugar initiative.<\/p>\n

America knows where Barack Obama stands on the issue of abortion. However, it is confusing when a superstar like Beyonc\u00e9 says things about pregnancy like \u201cIt is the most powerful creation for you to be able to have life growing inside of you. There is no bigger gift, nothing more empowering<\/a>\u201d \u2013 and then endorses a president who believes that saying when life begins <\/a>is \u201cabove [his] pay grade.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"ScreenShot2013-02-17at121458AM_zps2e6aef6f\"After the 2012 birth of Mr. and Mrs. Carter’s daughter Blue Ivy, in an interview with U.K.\u2019s Star Magazine<\/i>, Beyonc\u00e9 said<\/a>, \u201cYou have the instant connection once you know your child is growing inside you\u2026from the time I knew I was pregnant we have been parents.\u201d Sentiments like those indicate that Beyonc\u00e9\u00a0didn’t\u00a0read the Planned Parenthood talking points memo prior to the interview.<\/p>\n

And it gets better. According to Beyonc\u00e9 \u2013 one of Barack Obama\u2019s biggest celebrity supporters \u2013 if you\u2019re pregnant, you\u2019re carrying \u201ca child\u201d and are being granted \u201can opportunity to bring a life into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Life is but a Dream<\/i>, Beyonc\u00e9 continues the pro-life theme when she shares her sadness over the loss of her first baby in the early stages of pregnancy. The young mother said that when she first heard the baby\u2019s heartbeat, she immediately picked out a name and \u201cenvisioned what [the] child would look like.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a prior interview, the megastar had already discussed<\/a> that devastating loss. Beyonc\u00e9 said that upon learning that there was no longer a heartbeat, she went to the studio and penned and then sang a song she called \u201cthe saddest [she had] ever written.\u201d The words to the unnamed track are those of a bereaved mother telling a baby that would never to be born, \u201cI\u2019m longing for your heartbeat, heartbeat.\u201d<\/p>\n

By being such a staunch supporter of Barack Obama, and then sharing\u00a0 maternal feelings toward an unborn child with a name and a face,\u00a0 Beyonc\u00e9 certainly does nothing to reinforce the “blob of cells” argument that liberals depend upon when justifying abortion.<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 also expressed the strong belief that a miscarriage teaches a woman things about pregnancy \u2013 \u201cEspecially after losing a child, the pain and trauma from that just makes it mean so much more to get an opportunity to bring a life into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two years after her miscarriage, Beyonc\u00e9 was blessed when she conceived Blue Ivy. In the documentary, the 17-time Grammy-winner rubbed and cradled her swollen belly on camera and showed clips of her announcing her pregnancy on the MTV Music Awards show in 2011. It was there that Beyonc\u00e9 looked into the camera and said that the \u201cbaby wants to introduce herself.\u201d<\/p>\n

With all the heartbeat talk and the black-and-white sonogram popping up on the TV screen, one would think Planned Parenthood would request that the documentary be removed from prime time for supporting \u201cinformed consent\u201d and promoting what the abortion-backers refers to as an \u201cinvasive procedure<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The documentary even included intimate footage of Beyonc\u00e9 preparing to give birth and husband and rapper Jay-Z awaiting the baby\u2019s arrival. After the precious Blue Ivy Carter was born, Beyonc\u00e9 said that\u00a0\u201cI felt like God was giving me a chance to assist in a miracle.\u201d He certainly was!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
