An Illinois abortion facility just across the border from Missouri had multiple medical emergencies in less than a week, sending at least two women to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood Fairview Heights, a mega-facility that is part of the Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri affiliate, covers over 18,000 square feet and was built in secret<\/a> in 2019. After the fall of Roe v. Wade<\/em>, the facility announced its intention to increase business hours and commit as many abortions as possible; but recently, the facility has had three medical emergencies in just four days.<\/p>\n

Colleen McNicholas, chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood for the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, recently told NPR<\/a> that they are considering opening seven days a week for 12 hours each day. As it is, they have already expanded hours<\/a> from eight hours each day to 10 hours each day, allegedly to handle an increase in patients.<\/p>\n

Last month, the three emergencies took place on August 6th and August 9th. Operation Rescue obtained<\/a> the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) transcripts for all three.<\/p>\n

In the first emergency<\/a>, 911 was called on August 6th due to a 26-year-old woman who was conscious and breathing but experiencing a sharp, stabbing pain on her right side. MedStar Emergency Medical Services was dispatched and sent to the back door to respond, but beyond that, no information about her condition, or if she had to be taken to the hospital, was provided.<\/p>\n

Later, on the same day, the second medical emergency<\/a> took place \u2014 at 9:00 in the evening. A woman who had undergone an abortion fainted repeatedly afterward, and when MedStar responded, she had low blood pressure and was light-headed and drowsy. The Planned Parenthood staffer who called 911 requested that the woman be taken to Belleville Memorial Hospital, a 16-minute drive, but the EMTs ignored the request and took her instead to St. Elizabeth Hospital, which is only eight minutes away.<\/p>\n

Finally, three days later on August 9th, a woman was experiencing cervical bleeding, leading Planned Parenthood staffers to again call 911<\/a>. It was confirmed in the CAD transcript that the cervical bleeding occurred during an abortion procedure, and the woman was taken to Belleville Memorial Hospital. Oddly, the Planned Parenthood staffer had requested that she be taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri \u2014 across the state border and 26 miles away.<\/p>\n

None of the women’s conditions are currently known.<\/p>\n
