The White House this year marked Women\u2019s Equality Day by focusing on the topic of abortion, tying women\u2019s equality to their ability to abort preborn babies.\u00a0<\/span>The Biden Administration marked the day, which commemorates the ratification of the 19th amendment that recognized the right of women to vote, by sending letters to governors and convening a White House meeting on the topic of ensuring access to abortion. <\/span><\/p>\n

During <\/span>remarks<\/span><\/a> given in the Roosevelt Room to state and local officials, President Biden stated, \u201cThe court got Roe right for nearly 50 years\u2026 Congress in my view should codify Roe once and for all, but right now we are short a handful of votes.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

President Biden\u2019s remarks linked women\u2019s equality to their legal ability to kill their preborn children, rather than women\u2019s inherent equality as human beings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the event, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a <\/span>report<\/span><\/a> that had been mandated by President Biden\u2019s <\/span>Executive Order 14079<\/span><\/a>, issued August 3. The HHS report echoed the theme of Biden\u2019s remarks: \u201cAbortion is health care, and access to it,\u201d namely, the ability to take the lives of preborn babies, \u201ccan make a huge difference in a person\u2019s life \u2014 from the autonomy to make decisions about one\u2019s own body to improved health outcomes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, to mark the day, HHS intends to send a letter to state governors to underscore \u201cthat state antiabortion laws don\u2019t negate providers\u2019 responsibilities in these states to comply with federal laws that protect access to emergency health care,\u201d a senior administration official told the <\/span>Washington Post<\/span><\/a>. HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra had recently threatened that any state not in compliance could be referred to the DOJ for \u201cappropriate legal action,\u201d according to the Washington Post, despite the fact that life-saving measures are available during medical emergencies <\/span>instead of deliberate killing<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0and is <\/span>not health care<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

E.O. 14079 directed HHS to expand access to \u201cprotect and expand access\u201d to abortion; promote \u201caccess to reproductive health care services,\u201d including through a public awareness campaign; and ensure access to \u201cfull protections for emergency medical care,\u201d which has been a key Department of Justice pro-abortion legal line of effort in pro-life states like <\/span>Idaho<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Texas<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Live Action News has <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a>, every pro-life state law has exceptions for medical procedures to save a mother\u2019s life that is in danger. Treatments for ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages \u2013 frequently-touted reasons for why abortions must be legal \u2013 are not induced abortions, because induced abortion is the intentional killing of the preborn child. These measures are <\/span>legal in every state<\/span><\/a> and pro-life laws will not affect their availability. Additionally, doctors do not have to kill babies to save women, although frequently rhetoric about miscarriages is used to confuse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the Biden administration\u2019s flurry of pro-abortion activism, Texas has <\/span>pushed back<\/span><\/a> and recently <\/span>won<\/span><\/a> a key victory in federal court.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
