These provisions will \u2014 for now, at least \u2014\u00a0protect nearly all preborn children from abortion in the state.<\/p>\n<p>On July 22, Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Mitch Perry issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/fingfx.thomsonreuters.com\/gfx\/legaldocs\/zgpomxldjpd\/07222022abortion_kentucky_ruling.pdf\">temporary injunction<\/a> against the two pro-life laws.\u00a0Though Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron filed an appeal, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/kentucky-ban-laws-abortion\/\">previous report<\/a> from Live Action News, &#8220;the Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/kentucky-supreme-court-abortion-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied<\/a> his request to overturn Perry\u2019s ruling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING:<\/p>\n<p>Starting now in Kentucky, abortionists will be forced to shut their doors, and the laws passed by the people of Kentucky to protect their youngest citizens can go into effect.<\/p>\n<p>Amazing news. <\/p>\n<p>Victory for human life is just getting started!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Lila Rose (@LilaGraceRose) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/1554275800681029632?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 2, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The Kentucky Court of Appeals late Monday night approved Cameron\u2019s request for emergency relief, which <a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.kentucky.com\/news\/politics-government\/article263959741.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ylk=\"slk:he filed Friday\" data-rapid_p=\"6\" data-v9y=\"1\">he filed Friday<\/a>,&#8221; reported the Lexington Herald-Leader. &#8220;The Attorney General, who\u2019s running for governor, asked the court to reinstate his ability to enforce the state\u2019s trigger law, which bans all abortions except in cases of where death or substantial risk of death of the pregnant person exists, as well as a six-week ban on abortions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yGKyeEf_HHI\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/madison.com\/news\/national\/govt-and-politics\/appeals-court-reinstates-kentuckys-near-total-abortion-ban\/article_f4a1697c-ede4-568d-95fa-f839e092ea19.html\">added<\/a>, &#8220;The appeals court said the ban should take effect, even if the laws are in dispute, because in Kentucky, &#8216;a statute carries with it the presumption of constitutionality.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai&#8217;i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky affiliate is directing women out of state for abortions, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPGNHAIK\/status\/1554253834964303874?cxt=HHwWhICwvZno6JErAAAA\">tweeting<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0Kentucky&#8217;s pro-life protections are &#8220;cruel and devastating.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AG Cameron <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kyoag\/status\/1554258093835444225\">tweeted<\/a> in response to the decision, &#8220;Today the Court of Appeals granted our motion to have the Kentucky Human Life Protection Act and the Heartbeat Law reinstated in the Commonwealth.
