She has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FRCdc\/status\/1546919541464354820\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">described<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> them as \u201cfake clinics\u201d existing \u201cto fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help\u201d and has even accused them of carrying out \u201ctorture\u201d on pregnant women. She has introduced <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.warren.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/MUR22334.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">legislation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to \u201ccrack down\u201d on the alleged \u201cmisinformation\u201d she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/senator-elizabeth-warren-attacking-pregnancy-centers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">accuses<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pregnancy centers of spreading. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he has even <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FRCdc\/status\/1546919541464354820\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">called for<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0PRCs to be shut down nationwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;We need to shut them down.&quot; Sen. Here\u2019s why.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Pregnancy centers save lives<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/five-year-800000-lives-saved-pregnancy-centers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that between 2016 and 2020, over 800,000 lives have been saved as a result of abortion-minded and abortion-vulnerable women\u2019s visits to the nearly 3,000 PRCs operating nationwide. That\u2019s nearly one million people who likely would not exist without the care and support provided by these centers, over just a five-year period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2. Pregnancy centers serve millions of people annually<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Care Net, a PRC network, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.care-net.org\/financial-information\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reports<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that they <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnancy-resource-centers-care-people-womb-tomb\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">served<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> nearly 460,000 clients across their 1,200+ affiliated centers in 2020. Similarly, a CLI <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Pregnancy-Center-Report-2020_FINAL.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">study<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/report-pregnancy-centers-2-million-2019\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">found<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that pregnancy resource centers served nearly 2 million people in 2019 alone, providing practical resources for families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Pregnancy centers provide needed resources \u2014 at no charge<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same CLI study found that PRCs provided the following <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnancy-resource-centers-care-people-womb-tomb\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">services<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, among others, in 2019, at an estimated total value of nearly $270 million:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly 500,000 free ultrasounds &#8211; estimated value: $139 million\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">160,200 free STI\/STD tests &#8211; estimated value: $8 million\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly 732,000 free pregnancy tests &#8211; estimated value: $6.5 million<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free parenting and prenatal education programs &#8211; estimated value: nearly $52 million<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Post-abortive support for tens of thousands of clients &#8211; estimated value: $3.2 million<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly 1.3 million packages of diapers &#8211; estimated value: nearly $13 million<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 2 million baby outfits &#8211; estimated value: over $9 million<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 30,000 car seats and nearly 20,000 strollers &#8211; estimated total value: over $2.6 million<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>4. Pregnancy centers save communities money<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly all of those free services and supplies are paid for by charitable donations. But if PRC clients were forced to rely on government assistance for all of these resources, communities would have to divert taxpayer funds from other programs in order to provide this essential support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5. Pregnancy center clients rave about services received<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legitimate reviews for PRCs across the country reflect the gratitude of those they have served. San Francisco-based Alpha Pregnancy Center has a perfect 5-star <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/alpha-pregnancy-center-san-francisco\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rating<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Yelp. And of the five legitimate Yelp <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/care-net-pregnancy-and-family-services-kenmore\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviews<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Care Net of Puget Sound\u2019s location in Kenmore, Washington, all rate the service received as 5-star.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Words used to describe these centers include \u201cpatient,\u201d \u201ckind,\u201d \u201camazing,\u201d \u201cnon-judgmental,\u201d \u201cexceptional,\u201d and \u201cprofessional.\u201d These glowing reviews are not atypical.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s because these centers do not \u201ctorture\u201d women, as Senator Warren has absurdly claimed. Far from it.
