margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Tuesday, July 12, six pro-life activists \u2014 Terrisa Bukovinac, Lauren Handy, Kristin Turner, and Cassidy Shooltz of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/paaunow.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (PAAU), and well as Joan Andrews Bell, founder of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gloriadeiapostolate.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apostolate of Gloria Dei<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and Jonathan Darnell, founder of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/getseriouschurch.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get Serious Church<\/span><\/a> \u2014<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0were tried and sentenced for level 1 trespassing as a consequence of pro-life <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWWpOJyLz_j\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">activism<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the Alexandria Women\u2019s Center in Alexandria, Virginia. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bell and Handy were sentenced to 30 days in county jail; all others were sentenced to four days after all defendants pleaded \u201cno contest.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All six were taken directly to jail from the courthouse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The six were arrested on November 16, 2021 after entering the Alexandria Women\u2019s Center for a Pink Rose Rescue <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/WTD7ZuOuf_0\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">action<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which a PAAU press release defines as \u201ca nonviolent direct action in which activists enter abortion businesses, hand out life-affirming literature [and] pink roses[,] and offer hope and financial resources to the patients at risk of exploitation by the Abortion Industrial Complex.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF; The mothers and fathers of these children do not benefit from their death, nor does society. Whenever murder of the innocent is sanctioned by law, the whole of society is harmed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terrisa Bukovinac, Founder and Executive Director of PAAU, stated: \u201cThe concept of a human non-person is one that has been used historically and exclusively to discriminate against whole groups of human beings, and in the case of abortion \u2026 that discrimination is lethal almost one hundred percent of the time.
