Wade<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak signed an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gov.nv.gov\/News\/Executive_Orders\/2022\/Executive_Order_2022-08_Protecting_Access_to_Reproductive_Health_Services_in_Nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">executive order<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that he <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovSisolak\/status\/1541934477890293760\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is designed to \u201cstrengthen protections for reproductive freedom\u201d in the state. In reality, the order is chiefly designed to protect abortionists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, the order prohibits executive department agencies and employees \u2014 which includes the office of the Attorney General \u2014 from \u201cprovid[ing] any information or expend[ing] or us[ing] time, money, facilities, property, equipment, personnel or other resources in furtherance of any investigation or proceeding initiated in or by another State that seeks to impose civil or criminal liability or professional sanction\u201d upon anyone providing or receiving an abortion. However, it explicitly permits assisting those who are the subject of prosecution or investigation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today, I signed an Executive Order to strengthen protections for reproductive freedom in Nevada. Reproductive health care is a basic human right &#8212; We are committed to ensuring safe access to abortions for women seeking refuge from the restrictive laws in their state. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WJXRW0ZvBf\">pic.twitter.com\/WJXRW0ZvBf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Governor Sisolak (@GovSisolak) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovSisolak\/status\/1541934477890293760?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 29, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Secondly, the order directs \u201c[t]he Medical Examiners Board, the Nevada State Board of Nursing, the Pharmacy Board and any other board or commission\u201d which oversees abortionists to \u201cimplement policies that will ensure that no person shall be disqualified from licensure or subject to discipline by a Nevada board or commission for providing or assisting in the provision\u201d of abortion as a result of action against that person by another state. In other words, an abortionist who is disciplined in another state can rest easy knowing they will still be able to practice in Nevada, so long as whatever action merited that discipline is considered legal in Nevada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thirdly, the order states, \u201cThe Office of the Governor shall decline any request received from the executive authority of any other State to issue a warrant for the arrest or surrender\u201d of abortionists charged in another state, unless whatever crime they are accused of is also considered a crime in Nevada. However, it does not protect abortionists who were \u201cphysically present in the requesting State at the time of the commission of the alleged offense and thereafter fled from that State.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Current Nevada <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/state-policy\/explore\/overview-abortion-laws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">law<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> permits abortion on demand up to 24 weeks, after which point it is permitted in cases where the mother\u2019s life or health is deemed to be \u201cendangered.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveactionnewsonline\/\">\u201cLike\u201d Live Action News on Facebook<\/a>\u00a0for more pro-life news and commentary!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 28, just four days after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v.
