Reading this article<\/a> from Community Television of Southern California made me ponder a bunch of things about Planned Parenthood<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start by giving them the benefit of the doubt.<\/p>\n

First, I try to see what kind of insurance they take.\u00a0 Their websites make it look that not all take insurance. Most only take Cash, Credit and Debit Cards and Medicaid.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s see. After Googleing: \u201cPlanned Parenthood Emergency Room\u201d<\/em><\/strong> the results came only with \u201cEmergency Contraception\u201d<\/em><\/strong> and One PP located at the west side of Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Well, maybe if someone shows up with an emergency situation: broken leg, heart attack they might be able to help?<\/p>\n

Maybe not.<\/p>\n

None of the centers I searched with actual surgical rooms were equipped for real emergencies. Not even the Houston’s Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I am thinking now. Maybe they meant preventative health.<\/p>\n

So I looked again at Google and see what they offered.<\/p>\n

The closest thing was \u201cWomen\u2019s Health Checkups\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. Meaning, \u201cFrom the waist down\u201d<\/em>, Since I couldn\u2019t find a specific center that offered mammograms on site.<\/p>\n

Fair enough, an abnormal Pap will clearly be scary on itself. So far Houston offers colposcopies.<\/p>\n

Then what if they find HPV. Will they cure me? Do they offer Cryotherapy or LEEP?<\/p>\n

This is what they say: http:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-topics\/womens-health\/pap-tests-hpv-tests-19875.htm<\/a><\/p>\n

After that, if your test result is positive, they recommend finding a Planned Parenthood Health Center that treats HPV, but they don\u2019t say which one:<\/p>\n

Fine. Let\u2019s move on.<\/p>\n

So far I couldn\u2019t find a center that offered eye exams, arthritis treatments, thyroid diseases, or stroke risk. Or even assessed the patient’s health for heart attack risk. \u00a0And that is a problem, since my body is comprised of more organs besides my reproductive ones. (And I need each and everyone functioning correctly).<\/p>\n

Seems they don\u2019t cover these services, which heart attacks are pretty much something you go to the emergency room for. Then, they might not be telling the whole truth.<\/p>\n

OK, maybe they don\u2019t have general practitioners in staff. But at least an RN that might dispense basic vaccination? or antibiotics?<\/p>\n

Antibiotics, only for Chlamydia and other venereal diseases. And the only vaccines they offer are Hep A, B and Gardasil. And that was at PP of the Rockies.<\/p>\n

You know, for a College town, I\u2019d be more worried about contracting Meningitis in Campus. I guess they don\u2019t care if your brain swells. Maybe they will refer you to a nearby hospital. I wonder if they will be so kind as to call an ambulance for you. Maybe you should Google their neglect history for this one.<\/p>\n

Last, in honor of the truth they are all about Reproductive Care.<\/p>\n

Then, how come Google did not showed up a meaningful result for \u201cPlanned Parenthood Delivery Room\u201d.<\/p>\n

I mean, giving Birth to Live Babies IS a Reproductive Choice.<\/p>\n
