New Jersey lawmakers have introduced a bill that would allocate $20 million in state funding for “strengthening access to reproductive healthcare.”<\/p>\n

The bill, A4350<\/a>, would require health insurance companies in the state to cover abortion with no out-of-pocket expenses. It also requires existing state programs that cover pregnancy-related care to also cover abortion, and it ensures that there will be an increase in training for abortionists in the state. The bill is co-sponsored by Assemblywomen Mila Jasey and Shanique Speight.<\/p>\n

Proponents of the bill argue that because abortion is considered a right in the state’s constitution, the state should allocate money to ensure that everyone can afford it. But in this line of thinking, one could reason that because there is an enumerated constitutional right to bear arms that taxpayers should fund people’s gun purchases to make them more affordable. Intentionally killing an innocent child in an abortion (homicide) can never be a legitimate right.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood applauded the new bill, playing off the idea that abortion should be affordable because it’s a “right.”<\/p>\n

“We encourage our legislators to address all of the very real gaps in access to abortion care that many New Jerseyans face,” said<\/a> Kaitlyn Wojtowicz, vice president of public affairs for Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey.\u00a0“A right that cannot be exercised isn’t worth the paper it’s written on,” she said. “Every New Jerseyean \u2013 regardless of where they live, their income, or immigration or insurance status \u2013 must have the resources and access to make their own decisions about birth control, prenatal care, and abortion with dignity.”<\/p>\n

Sadly, there is no such thing as abortion with dignity. Abortion is the homicide of an undelivered baby. It is a horrendous procedure in which the preborn child is starved to death, torn apart limb by limb, or lethally injected to cause cardiac arrest. Live Action’s “What is Abortion?<\/a>” series details the gruesome ways in which children are killed in the womb. When the state funds abortion, it is funding the deaths of its future citizens.<\/p>\n

The bill has been referred to the state Assembly Health Committee for further review.<\/p>\n
