In Michigan, the <\/span>Ottawa County Department of Public Health<\/span><\/a> has removed a controversial sex guide from its website, <\/span>according<\/span><\/a> to KPVI News. The <\/span>guide<\/span><\/a> was designed to instruct parents on how to speak to their children \u2013 starting at birth \u2013 about sex, and included material from Planned Parenthood.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 30-page guide makes shocking, unsubstantiated claims, including the idea that children experience sexual pleasure beginning at birth \u2014 an idea put forth by Alfred Kinsey, who gathered his information<\/a> on alleged child sexuality through the pedophilic abuse of children. The guide also claims that children \u201cattain cognitive maturity\u201d between ages 13-17, which defies conventional neuroscience. <\/span>Mainstream<\/span><\/a> science has <\/span>established<\/span><\/a> that the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for higher-level decision-making, planning, and self-control, is still underdeveloped during adolescence, and does not <\/span>mature<\/span><\/a> until an individual reaches their <\/span>early 20s<\/span><\/a>. Because of this, minors are not legally <\/em><\/span>capable<\/span><\/a><\/em> of giving sexual consent, because they lack the level of <\/span>brain development<\/span><\/a> required to make complex choices. <\/span><\/p>\n

The guide in question, however, implies that children as young as 15 can consent:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>One page in the guide advises parents to \u201creinforce that masturbation is natural and healthy\u201d in 9-12-year-olds, and to tell 13-18-year-olds \u201cwhere they can access sexual and reproductive health care services.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The introduction to the guide references the Power to Decide campaign, which promotes AbortionFinder.org and is funded by Plan B One-Step:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bedsider.org is included in the list of links at the end of the guide. This website provides an abortion finder tool as well as a tool to help people get contraception by mail. There is a section on the site dedicated to \u201cdating & hookups.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

READ:<\/strong>\u00a0\u2018Sexy\u2019 sex ed camps are teaching \u2018all ages\u2019 how to self-abort, become a sex worker, and more<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to spotlighting Planned Parenthood, Power to Decide, and Bedsider, the guide also provides links to <\/span>Advocates for Youth<\/span><\/a> and its sister project, <\/span>AMAZE<\/span><\/a>, which features sexually explicit, quasi-pornographic, \u201ceducational\u201d videos for kids. These organizations <\/span>groom<\/span><\/a> children as young as age four for early sexual activity, actively <\/span>market<\/span> the \u201cservices\u201d of Planned Parenthood ( including contraception and abortion), and are involved in <\/span>eugenics<\/span><\/a> and population control.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ironically, the link to <\/span>Fight the New Drug<\/span><\/a>, an anti-porn site, is also provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>KPVI<\/span><\/a>, some parents complained about the guide on social media. As of Friday, June 10, the link to the guide has been removed from the Ottawa County Department of Health website.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
