Update 6\/9\/22<\/strong>: The Epoch Times<\/a> has obtained<\/a> online meeting footage of the pro-abortion group, Shut Down D.C., which is organizing an event aimed at shutting down the Supreme Court on June 13. During the meeting, the group announced it plans to seal off all three vehicle entrances to the court so that the justices can’t get there and announce the decision, which could overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoal is to create a decision dilemma, presenting the court, Congress, and law enforcement [and the political leaders that oversee them] with three unacceptable [to them] options,\u201d a video slide made by the activists read.<\/p>\n

The group said it may also “continue to escalate the crisis in democracy” by making police remove demonstrators by force or try to make the government implement its demands.<\/p>\n

6\/2\/2022<\/strong>: Within the next month, the U.S. Supreme Court is expected to issue its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>, which not only will determine if Mississippi’s 15-week abortion restriction can stand, but whether\u00a0Roe v. Wade<\/em> will be kept in place. A leaked<\/a> draft opinion showed that Roe<\/em> was going to be overturned, and this quickly resulted in near-riotous behavior from abortion activists. The latest example is a group planning on blockading the Supreme Court in June.<\/p>\n

A group called #ShutDownDC has organized a #ShutDownSCOTUS event<\/a> to take place on June 13, one of the days the Supreme Court is expected to release decisions this month.<\/p>\n

“The leak of Justice Alito\u2019s draft decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health<\/em>, overturning Roe v. Wade<\/em> and opening the door to the elimination of myriad other rights that our communities rely on, has brought to the surface something that many of our movements have recognized for a long time,” the group wrote. “Following decades of organizing by the far right, conservatives now hold a majority on the Supreme Court, and a group of five justices can roll back critical rights and protections that should be settled law. At the same time, the filibuster has left the Senate gridlocked and unable to pass legislation to protect our rights or enact the programs our communities need.”<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court releases their decisions each Monday, and on June 13th, #ShutDownDC is calling for activists to join them in blockading the streets around the Supreme Court building. In a tweet<\/a>, they wrote that people need to “take a stand against the anti-woman anti-queer anti-safety anti-equality justices who represent a small minority of this country.”<\/p>\n

Yet the number of people who oppose Roe<\/em> are not a “small minority”; in fact, polling<\/a> has repeatedly shown that when people understand what overturning Roe<\/em> actually means \u2014 returning the abortion decision to each state’s own elected lawmakers \u2014\u00a0they support overturning it.<\/p>\n

In a statement<\/a> to the Washington Free Beacon, an unnamed leader said their goal is “to expand the current political crisis by shutting down the Supreme Court.” A recent briefing garnered approximately 60 activists and several leaders, who outlined a plan for blocking access to the underground parking garage used as the primary entry and exit point for employees and justices alike.<\/p>\n

Organizers also acknowledged in the briefing, according to the Washington Free Beacon, that their tactics are illegal.<\/p>\n

Since the draft leak, there have been numerous attacks against the pro-life movement, specifically attacking\u00a0pregnancy centers<\/a>, churches<\/a>, and pro-life offices<\/a>. Pro-life activists, including minors<\/a>, have also been violently attacked<\/a> by abortion activists over the potential of Roe<\/em>‘s end.<\/p>\n
