On May 13, 2022, the Department of Homeland Security issued a memorandum<\/span> entitled \u201cPotential for Threats to Public Safety in Response to Abortion Debate,\u201d <\/span>explaining that the <\/span>leak of the draft<\/span><\/a> Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em> “prompted a significant increase in violent threats\u2014many made online via social media and some of which are under investigation\u2014directed toward some US Supreme Court Justices and the Supreme Court building.”\u00a0While the DHS has not been specific about which \u201cside\u201d the extremists are on, Live Action News has extensive research<\/a> exposing the extremists as pro-abortion activists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The DHS document continued, \u201cT<\/span>he volume of violent threats targeting Supreme Court Justices, members of Congress, other public officials, clergy, healthcare officials and providers, and others associated with the abortion debate are likely to persist and may increase leading up to and following the issuing of the Court\u2019s official ruling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The bulletin also referred to the National Capital Threat Intelligence Consortium, which confirmed at least 25 violent threats have been shared with partner agencies for further investigation. “Some of these threats discussed burning down or storming the US Supreme Court and murdering Justices and their clerks, members of Congress, and lawful demonstrators,” said the consortium.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABC News also\u00a0<\/span>reported<\/span><\/a> that a senior DHS official had a phone call with state and local partners on Monday afternoon warning of the extremist\u2019s plans to \u201cincite violence amongst their supporters.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since <\/span>the leak of the Supreme C<\/span>ourt\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>draft opinion<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>in the\u00a0<\/span>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/span><\/i>\u00a0suggesting the likelihood of <\/span>Roe v. Wade <\/span><\/i>being overturned,<\/span> pro-life facilities have been vandalized, burned, defaced, firebombed, and attacked. Catholic churches have been invaded and bomb threats have emerged. Pro-life individuals have been emotionally and physically assaulted, spat at, egged, and harassed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, abortion supporters have been rioting in cities with protestors throwing rocks and bottles at police and carrying signs that read, \u201cBurn our rights, we burn ur state,\u201d as previously <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a> by Live Action News.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Supreme Court Justice\u2019s home addresses were also publicized by pro-abortion organization Ruth Sent Us, with <\/span>plans<\/span><\/a> to protest \u201c[w]here the s<\/span>\u200b\u200b<\/span>ix Christian fundamentalist Justices issue their shadow docket rulings from.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The pro-abortion group, Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights, which\u00a0<\/span>previously<\/span><\/a> planned a \u201cWeek of Action\u201d beginning on Mother\u2019s Day, has now declared May 26<\/span>th<\/span> as \u201cShut Down the Country Day.\u201d These extremists <\/span>say<\/span><\/a>, \u201cWe will make it clear to the woman-haters on the Supreme Court and everywhere else that if they take away the right to abortion, their society will be prevented from functioning at all. We will NOT go back.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

M<\/span>ike Sena, president of the Nation Fusion Center Association recently <\/span>told<\/span><\/a> CBS News, “A lot of what we have been seeing has been implied threats without specific locations.\u201d He continued, “People can have extreme ideologies, there’s nothing wrong with that. But it’s the discussion of violence, death and destruction that we’re concerned about.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A DHS spokesperson said the department is “committed to protecting Americans’ freedom of speech and other civil liberties, including the right to peacefully protest,\u201d <\/span>according<\/span><\/a> to CBS news. But these protests have been less than peaceful and show no signs of letting up.<\/span><\/p>\n
