Recently, new pro-life laws have been enacted in several states, and there is hope that <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> will be overturned, allowing for pro-life trigger laws to go into effect. This has pro-abortion companies scrambling for ways to ensure their employees in pro-life states still have the ability to have their undelivered children killed; after all, it&#8217;s cheaper for employers to pay for abortion expenses than maternity leave and health care for an employee&#8217;s new baby or babies.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-271091 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Image-from-iOS-9-700x473.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"464\" height=\"314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Image-from-iOS-9-700x473.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Image-from-iOS-9-300x203.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Image-from-iOS-9-768x519.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Image-from-iOS-9-500x338.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Image-from-iOS-9.jpg 1284w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 464px) 100vw, 464px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here are the companies that have pledged to reimburse employees for the costs associated with traveling out of state for an abortion:<\/p>\n<h3>829 Studios<\/h3>\n<p>The company said it will <a href=\"https:\/\/rhiaventures.org\/corporate-engagement\/whatareyourreprobenefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">provide<\/a> up to $3,500 in abortion-related travel expenses reimbursement for travel within Massachusetts or to the nearest location where abortion is available.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Accenture, Inc.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/FgWtF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a>, the consultant company said it will cover the travel costs of employees who are seeking an abortion outside of their local area.<\/p>\n<h3>Adidas<\/h3>\n<p>Adidas <a href=\"https:\/\/footwearnews.com\/2022\/business\/retail\/adidas-will-pay-10000-abortion-access-employees-1203306042\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> in late June that it will cover up to $10,000 in abortion-related travel expenses including lodging for employees. In May, Britain&#8217;s Advertising Standards Authority <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/Top_News\/World-News\/2022\/05\/11\/uk-Adidas-ad-campaign-banned\/9251652272491\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">banned<\/a> an Adidas ad campaign that was criticized for objectifying and sexualizing women by reducing them to body parts. The ad featured dozens of sets of bare breasts for the company&#8217;s ad for sports bras.<\/p>\n<h3>Adobe<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/health\/companies-paying-for-abortion-travel-rcna36192\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Today<\/a>, Adobe Inc, a software company, stated, &#8220;n the U.S, our healthcare plans offer consistent access to care and resources, independent of geography, which includes the coverage of abortion services and travel or lodging that may be required to obtain those services.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Airbnb<\/h3>\n<p>Airbnb Inc. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/livecoverage\/supreme-court-decision-roe-v-wade-6-24-2022\/card\/uber-lyft-others-to-support-employees-traveling-out-of-state-for-abortion-vtYQJSQ5KFZppFnOXQGF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Friday that their U.S. healthcare plans cover abortions and that the companies would continue to cover travel expenses for employees who seek medical treatment outside their home states.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Alaska Airlines<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Alaska Airlines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/litigation\/alaska-airlines-will-reimburse-health-travel-costs-after-abortion-ruling-2022-06-24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that it had already been covering the costs related to abortion-travel for employees prior to the overturning of Roe and said that it will continue to do so.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Allbirds, Inc.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to a statement from CEO Joseph Zwillinger on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:6946219891708375040\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>, the company will financially cover the costs of abortion-related travel expenses. He said, &#8220;Should you have to incur travel to reach a state that legally allows an abortion and you would like to exercise your right to do so, we will cover your travel cost to ensure that you can make the decision that is right for you.&#8221; This includes coverage for a support person to travel with the person as well as childcare costs for their born children.<\/p>\n<h3>Alloy, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/rhiaventures.org\/corporate-engagement\/whatareyourreprobenefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> it will cover 50% of legal expenses and up to $5,000 for legal issues and up to $1,500 towards abortion-related travel costs out of state as well as up to $1,500 for out-of-pocket medical expenses related to traveling for abortion due to pro-life policies.<\/p>\n<h3>Alnylam Pharmaceuticals Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>The pharmaceutical company will pay for the travel expenses of employees seeking an abortion, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/endpts.com\/some-pharma-companies-promise-to-cover-abortion-related-travel-costs-while-others-wont-go-that-far-yet\/\">Endpoints News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Amalgamated Bank<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The largest union-owned bank in the U.S., Amalgamated Bank, said in a statement that it would pay the travel expenses &#8220;for employees and their dependents who need to travel out of state to access reproductive health care.&#8221; Those expenses can include airfare, gasoline, hotel fees, meal expenses, and up to five days of childcare expenses.<\/p>\n<h3>Amazon<\/h3>\n<p>Amazon <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/amazon-reimburse-employees-abortion-travel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that it will cover up to $4,000 of its employees&#8217; travel expenses for non-life-threatening medical procedures, including abortion. The policy is for both U.S. employees and any covered dependents, and was made retroactive to January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ultimate \u2018F U\u2019 any boss can give their female employees: I will literally pay 4k for you to kill your child so I don\u2019t need to pay for maternity leave &amp; so you can work extra long hours for me,\u201d Live Action founder and president Lila Rose\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/1521269973087178752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a>. \u201cExtraordinarily gross,\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" tabindex=\"-1\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeffBezos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeffBezos\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" data-remove-tab-index=\"true\">@JeffBezos<\/a>.\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" tabindex=\"-1\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amazon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amazon\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" data-remove-tab-index=\"true\">@amazon<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>American Express<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-06-24\/jpmorgan-will-cover-employee-abortion-travel-starting-next-month\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a>, American Express had already been covering travel-related expenses for abortion prior to the fall of <em>Roe<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>Amika<\/h3>\n<p>The personal care company said on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/amika_people-healthcare-activity-6946642614259515392-5w9Y?utm_source=linkedin_share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop_web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a> that it will reimburse employees for abortion-related travel and lodging expenses.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Apple<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Apple, which is expanding in Austin Texas with a new $1 billion, three-million-square-foot campus, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/yelp-joins-apple-citigroup-other-companies-covering-travel-costs-for-abortions-11649789862\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> that its health insurance policy includes coverage of abortions as well as travel expenses.<\/p>\n<h3>AT&amp;T<\/h3>\n<p>AT&amp;T has said it will reimburse the travel costs related to an employee&#8217;s abortion more than 100 miles from where they live, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-06-24\/at-t-t-joins-texas-employers-reimbursing-travel-after-abortion-ruling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Atlassian<\/h3>\n<p>The company issued a statement on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Atlassian\/status\/1540448315321597956\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> stating that any employees living in pro-life states who want to have an abortion will be reimbursed for abortion-related travel expenses for themselves and a companion.<\/p>\n<h3>Bank of America<\/h3>\n<p>Bank of America, the second-largest U.S. bank,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/us-supreme-court-overturns-abortion-rights-landmark-2022-06-24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> it will cover travel costs for employees who want to go out-of-state to undergo an abortion, according to a statement from the bank.<\/p>\n<h3>BioGene, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>The company announced via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/beigene_reproductive-healthcare-activity-6947156831722995712-rdZi\/?utm_source=linkedin_share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop_web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>, that it will cover out-of-state travel for employees and their dependents to get abortions.<\/p>\n<h3>Biogen Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>Following the fall of Roe, the company announced that it will now begin paying for its employees to travel for abortions, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/boston\/news\/2022\/06\/29\/biogen-abortion-roe-v-wade-benefit-travel.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biz Journals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>BlackRock, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>BlackRock, an asset management firm, announced it will pay the travel expenses for employees who decided to travel for abortions, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pionline.com\/money-management\/after-supreme-courts-abortion-ruling-blackrock-and-other-asset-managers-say-theyll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pensions &amp; Investments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Box.com<\/h3>\n<p>Box.com has begun covering abortion-related travel expenses and medical costs for employees, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/wraltechwire.com\/2022\/06\/27\/these-us-companies-will-cover-travel-costs-for-employees-who-need-an-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WRAL<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Brown Harris Stevens, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>In a statement, the real estate company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.bhsusa.com\/post\/brown-harris-stevens-stands-with-the-right-to-choose\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that it will provide up to $4,000 for employees to travel for abortions to the nearest location.<\/p>\n<h3>Bumble<\/h3>\n<p>Bumble announced on Twitter that it has a relief fund for Texas women so they can leave the state for an abortion. That money will cover the costs associated with abortion-related travel.<\/p>\n<h3>BuzzFeed, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/paramount-disney-netflix-employee-abortion-travel-costs-1235302706\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>, BuzzFeed will cover abortion-related travel costs for employees who live in states that protect preborn babies from abortion &#8212; beginning with states that had trigger abortion bans in place.<\/p>\n<h3>Chief<\/h3>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lindsaykap\/status\/1540359609973719047\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweet<\/a> from co-founder Lindsay Kaplan, Chief will reimburse up to $1,000 for out-of-state travel expenses for employees and family members to get abortions, including the cost of childcare.<\/p>\n<h3>Chobani<\/h3>\n<p>Chobani founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya said on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hamdiulukaya\/status\/1524752417094619136\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> that the company would alter its health plan to include coverage of transportation, lodging, and childcare for their employees and their employees&#8217; dependents to travel for an abortion.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Cigna<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The health insurance company released a statement, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/abortion-travel-companies-paying-benefits-amazon-starbucks-target\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a>, stating,\u00a0&#8220;Cigna has employees in all 50 states, and we are committed to ensuring that they each have access to comprehensive health care, no matter where they live. We already offer our employees and their families travel reimbursement for certain health services, and we are expanding that benefit to include abortion care, gender-affirming care, and behavioral health services in states where access is restricted,&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Citigroup<\/h3>\n<p>The multi-national banking organization Citigroup has <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/citigroup-plan-pay-employees-abortion-travel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> its plan to pay abortion-related travel expenses for employees. \u201cIn response to changes in reproductive health-care laws in certain states in the U.S., beginning in 2022 we provide travel benefits to facilitate access to adequate resources,&#8221; the company said in a filing for a shareholders&#8217; meeting. The plan includes covering the cost of airfare and hotels. In response, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lawmakers-senate-terminate-citigroup-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawmakers<\/a> have called the House and Senate to terminate a contract with Citigroup.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>CNN<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/30\/business\/media\/abortion-travel-expenses-media-companies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times<\/a>, CNN will cover the abortion-related travel expenses for its employees.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Comcast-NBC Universal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Comcast has <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/paramount-disney-netflix-employee-abortion-travel-costs-1235302706\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promised<\/a> to pay the travel expenses for female employees who travel to undergo abortions.<\/p>\n<h3>Compass, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>The real estate company said it will reimburse the abotion-related travel costs of employees and their companions, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/therealdeal.com\/2022\/06\/29\/brokerage-execs-condemn-scotus-pledge-cover-abortion-costs\/#:~:text=Compass%20will%20reimburse%20employees%20up,by%20Compass'%20health%20insurance%20carrier.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Real Deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Cond\u00e9 Nast<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/abortion-travel-companies-paying-benefits-amazon-starbucks-target\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a>, magazine publisher Cond\u00e9 Nast will be covering the cost of abortion-related travel for its employees.<\/p>\n<h3>Crocs, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>Crocs has said it will now reimburse employees up to $4,000 to cover travel costs associated with out-of-state abortions, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/footwearnews.com\/2022\/business\/retail\/companies-abortion-benefits-potential-legal-challenges-1203306656\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Footwear News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>CVS Health<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>CVS Health Corp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-06-24\/jpmorgan-cvs-and-other-employers-will-cover-abortions-after-roe-overturned?sref=sBMxP0gT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> it will make out-of-state abortion available to its employees.<\/p>\n<h3>Danone North America<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/article\/abortion-companies-travel-expenses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a>, the company has updated its health benefits to include abortion-related travel.<\/p>\n<h3>Deloitte U.S.<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/article\/abortion-companies-travel-expenses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a>, the consulting company shared that it will pay the travel expenses for employees who need abortions.<\/p>\n<h3>Deutsche Bank AG<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/deutsche-bank-will-cover-travel-costs-employees-seeking-abortions-source-2022-06-24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a>, the bank is now covering abortion-related travel costs for employees who travel within 100 miles of their home.<\/p>\n<h3>Discord, Inc.<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-05-03\/how-u-s-companies-are-supporting-workers-on-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a>, the company will reimburse employees and dependents up to $5,000 for abortion-related travel.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods CEO Lauren Hobart announced on June 24, 2022, on her LinkedIn page that the company will be funding the travel expenses related to abortion for all employees up to $4,000.
