Market research demonstrates the powerful impact of these videos, which use animation to portray what actually happens during the four most common abortion methods, including first-trimester <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/4g6PwPzUJRU\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">suction abortion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (also known as vaccuum aspiration or dilation and curettage\/D&amp;C), second-trimester <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/WcFP8oi7OEw\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dilation and evacuation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (D&amp;E), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/x9kmzzvgpyo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">induction abortion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/kCHkUlPStX4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">abortion pill<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> method. Each video is narrated by a female former abortionist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eR1Ut4BPbOw\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Market researchers showed these videos to over 3,000 women and men, many of whom identified as pro-choice. A significant number of viewers reported a shift in their opinions toward the pro-life position after viewing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, 51% of viewers reported that they viewed abortion more negatively after watching a &#8220;What is Abortion?&#8221; video. Among pro-choice women viewers, 46% reported that they viewed abortion more negatively after watching the video.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One question asked respondents to place themselves on a continuum between \u201cAbortions should be allowed whenever a woman wants and for whatever reason\u201d and \u201cAbortion is wrong in all cases and should never be allowed.\u201d The percentage of respondents who selected \u201cAbortion is wrong in all cases and should never be allowed\u201d <em>nearly doubled<\/em> after viewing an Abortion Procedures video; 25% selected that option <em>prior<\/em> to viewing, while\u00a046% selected this option <em>after<\/em> viewing \u2013 which equates to an\u00a0<em><strong>84% increase<\/strong><\/em> in the number of people choosing this option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The percentage increase on this question was analogous among pro-choice women specifically. And whereas 0% of self-identified pro-choice women selected \u201cAbortion should never be legal\u201d when asked their position on abortion prior to viewing, 19% chose that option <em>after<\/em> viewing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The majority of viewers rated the videos \u201cgood\u201d or \u201cexcellent,\u201d and described them as \u201ceducational.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/buzzfeed-news-spreads-fake-news-abortion\/\">BuzzFeed News spreads fake news about abortion and human development<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Survey respondents\u2019 statements reveal additional details about personal reactions. One 29-year-old male viewer stated: \u201cI didn&#8217;t know much about the subject to be honest.
