A shortage of baby formula throughout the nation due to low supply and product recalls has families in a panic about feeding their babies. Whether they are mothers who are unable to breastfeed or are foster parents or adoptive parents, they are struggling to feed their children who are dependent on formula. But a pro-life pregnancy resource center says it is helping to supply these families with the formula they need.<\/p>\n

Helping Hands Pregnancy Resource Center<\/a>, a Heartbeat affiliate\u00a0in Michigan, has a stockpile of baby formula that it provides to clients. Now, due to the shortage, it has opened up to share with the community. The center has long provided baby clothes, diapers, and formula at no cost to its clients as part of its material assistance program in which clients are able to come in once a month and receive essential baby items for free. But recently, they have built up a surplus of supplies.<\/p>\n

“I have never seen this much formula. We have an overflow!” said volunteer Lois Stoll, who manages the formula supply at Helping Hands.<\/p>\n

Executive Director Bryce Asberg said the stockpile is “the result of an unexpected set of circumstances.” He explained in a press release, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of clients fell but donations continued to come in. This has left us uniquely situated to meet the needs of Hillsdale County now that there is a formula shortage.”<\/p>\n

Any family in need of baby formula can go to Helping Hands at 46 S. Howell St in Hillsdale on Mondays from 10-4, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-6, and Fridays from 11-2. They must bring a form of baby identification such as a birth certificate or social security card. Each month they can continue to receive baby clothes, diapers, and one can of baby formula per child.<\/p>\n

In addition, the pregnancy center Sneak Peak 3D<\/a> in Ohio is also opening its doors to the public by offering its stock of baby formula to anyone who needs it. “I\u2019ve had people reach out from Alabama, Texas, Indiana, Illinois asking if I could ship it, and if I had a lot more, I probably would,\u201d said owner Heather Armstrong.<\/p>\n

Brenham Pregnancy Center<\/a> in Brenham, Texas is also sharing its baby formula outside of its client base after it received donations from doctors, churches, food banks, and individuals.<\/p>\n

Despite the help that pro-life pregnancy centers like Helping Hands provide to women, babies, and families, pro-abortion individuals have been vandalizing<\/a> pregnancy centers around the nation ever since the draft opinion of the Supreme Court’s ruling to possibly overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em> was leaked<\/a> on May 2, 2022. Pregnancy centers exist to assist women who have chosen life for their babies, so attacking them harms those women and children.<\/p>\n

Families in other areas who are in need of formula can contact their local pregnancy centers to check and see if there is formula available for them.<\/p>\n
