According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Politico<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a\u00a0leaked first draft decision shows that the first five voted to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, the 1973 decision that prevented states from enforcing certain abortion restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ruth Sent Us said the May 11 protests would be \u201cpeaceful\u201d and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/u\/0\/viewer?mid=1kpeXLzFav5BHgT_GbSqqInpPUCIlfrBJ&amp;ll=38.908313937366756%2C-77.1881283&amp;z=10\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">described<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the homes as \u201c[w]here the s\u200b\u200bix Christian fundamentalist Justices issue their shadow docket rulings from.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino asked, \u201cIs that like the \u2018mostly peaceful\u2019 protests burning down cities across the country during BLM, which appears to be connected with this group? The draft opinion, penned by Alito, was leaked in what critics have described as a highly inappropriate breach of trust and likely attempt to pressure the justices into allowing <em>Roe<\/em> to stand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shortly after Politico published the opinion Monday, droves of protesters showed up outside the Supreme Court and demonstrations have continued to pop up in the following days. Often impassioned, the protests have sometimes led to tense confrontations and violence between the two sides.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/dishonest-hyperbolic-reactions-politicians-roe-reversal\/\">Pro-abortion politicians react with hyperbole in light of possible Roe reversal<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/police-intervene-confrontation-supreme-court\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action News<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported on a confrontation Wednesday during which an apparent pro-abortion protester seemed to attempt to take a sign from pro-life activist Bryan Kemper of Priests for Life. That resulted in police forming a barricade around the four pro-lifers who had walked into a large pro-abortion rally that evening. Interestingly, the late liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the namesake of \u201cRuth Sent Us,\u201d also\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/ginsburg-abortion-law-people-unelected-judges\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> states should have decided the issue instead of <em>Roe<\/em> usurping that authority for the federal government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s unclear what Ginsburg \u2013 now deceased \u2013 would have thought of the protesters claiming to champion her legacy. She did, however, express concern about attempts to politicize the Court and identified that as a likely consequence of court packing. That\u2019s something Democrats and left-wing activists have been pushing as a way to reverse decisions made by the Court\u2019s current conservative majority.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;If anything would make the court appear partisan it would be that,&#8221; Ginsburg <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/flashback-ruth-bader-ginsburg-opposed-court-packing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">previously said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. &#8220;One side saying when we\u2019re in power we\u2019re going to enlarge the number of judges so we\u2019ll have more people who will vote the way we want them to.
