Wade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At around 8 p.m. ET, pro-life protesters walked \u200b\u200binto a large pro-abortion rally that took a circular formation with speakers in the middle. After pro-life protesters walked into the center, an apparent pro-abortion protester approached one of them \u2013 Bryan Kemper of Priests for Life \u2013 and appeared to try and take his sign. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DormanInDc\/status\/1522006080527679489\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Footage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shows the two individuals in an apparently heated exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Police quickly formed a circular barrier around the handful of pro-life protesters who entered the rally.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Easier to see barrier here <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lX1FCQEWXD\">pic.twitter.com\/lX1FCQEWXD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Sam Dorman (@DormanInDc) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DormanInDc\/status\/1522006698399088642?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some from the rally questioned the police\u2019s presence. At least one protester chanted \u201cCops and Klan go hand in hand.\u201d Another individual yelled \u201cthe police protect the patriarchy.\u201d Some of the attendees defended the police, suggesting they were just doing their jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As more officers poured into the crowd, the rally moved to the other side of the barriers set up at the Court.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Pro aborts move to other side after police show up. As you can see at the end, lots of police. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aqgc098olQ\">pic.twitter.com\/aqgc098olQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Sam Dorman (@DormanInDc) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DormanInDc\/status\/1522007881582792706?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Epoch Times, the officers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/pro-abortion-protestors-hit-pastors-outside-supreme-court-and-go-free_4447170.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ordered<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the pro-life protesters to leave. Among them was AJ Hurley \u2014\u00a0who leads Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust \u2014\u00a0and pro-life veteran Rev. Patrick Mahoney. A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hurleya\/videos\/984372188891215\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook Live video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Hurley shows the confrontation from his perspective.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fhurleya%2Fvideos%2F984372188891215%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=267&amp;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"591\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later on Wednesday, Hurley later told Live Action News that he intended to file a lawsuit for alleged violations of his and other pro-lifers\u2019 First Amendment rights. He said that in total, there were four of them involved in the confrontation. Capitol Police did not immediately respond to Live Action News\u2019 request for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mahoney reportedly said, \u201cI\u2019ve been in D.C. 30 years. And I\u2019ve never seen anything like this in 30 years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another pro-life protester, Pastor Mark Lee Dickson of Right to Life of East Texas and founder of Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn, reportedly said: \u201cWe want to be over there to exercise our freedom of speech, our First Amendment rights, and the police are telling us that we cannot go where the others can go, and so they are treating us differently than they\u2019re treating those.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been difficult to find large groups of pro-life protesters at the Court outside of groups like Hurley\u2019s and the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising. On Monday, a group of college students appeared to be praying the rosary at the Court while facing harassment from pro-abortion demonstrators.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Otherwise, the pro-abortion side appears to have showed up in much larger numbers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shortly after Politico reported on the draft opinion, protesters showed up to the Court on Monday and police started setting up barricades. As of Wednesday, there were barricades preventing protesters from reaching the steps of the Court. Other barricades divided the street in front of the Court (First St. SE)\u00a0 into two sections, presumably for the two opposing sides on the issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/O4MTIdaCpS\">pic.twitter.com\/O4MTIdaCpS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Sam Dorman (@DormanInDc) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DormanInDc\/status\/1522010343266033664?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the pro-abortion rally moved to the other side of the street, the pro-lifers attempted to join them but were blocked by a large contingent of officers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Epoch Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_breakingnewnebrasks\/pro-abortion-protestors-hit-pastors-outside-supreme-court-and-go-free_4447170.html\">reported<\/a> that a female protester hit Dickson, who then stated, \u201cAssault! Assault! She attacked me! She hit my head!\u201d The ET noted:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Police told the female protester that Dickson said he wouldn\u2019t press charges if she would apologize.\u00a0<\/em><em>At first, the female protester told the police that she would not apologize.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cNo,\u201d she said.\u00a0But as officers told her to stand up and prepared to arrest her, she said she had changed her mind.\u00a0\u201cWait, wait! Can I change my mind?\u201d she said in a panicked tone. \u201cI would like to do that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Police brought the female pro-abortion protester close enough to talk with Dickson. The protester apologized\u201cI apologize,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/em><em>But when Dickson asked her why she had hit him, she refused to answer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cShe apologized. Are we done here?\u201d an officer said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019ll press charges,\u201d Dickson responded.\u00a0<\/em><em>Police called the woman back.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cBut you just said I was free to go!\u201d she said frantically.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Dickson then demanded the female protester\u2019s arrest. But the police didn\u2019t take her into custody.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ve not arrested her, so now we\u2019ll have to get a warrant. We will still pursue it if you want to,\u201d one officer said to Dickson.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cI wanted an explanation,\u201d Dickson said.\u00a0Then he tried to debate with the police.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cYou\u2019re playing a game. We don\u2019t play this game,\u201d an officer replied. \u201cWe abide by the law.
