This is typically around six weeks gestation, though the heart begins beating between 16 and 22 days after fertilization. The bill successfully made it through both state houses just last week.<\/p>\n<p>The law contains exceptions for rape, incest, and medical emergency for the mother, as <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/idaho-legislators-restricting-abortion-heartbeat\/\">noted in a previous report<\/a> from Live Action News. However, it is <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-life-replies-abortion-never-medically-necessary\/\">never medically necessary<\/a> to directly and intentionally kill a preborn human being.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idahostatesman.com\/news\/politics-government\/state-politics\/article259687300.html#storylink=cpy\">Idaho Statesman<\/a>\u00a0reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The bill was modeled after a Texas law passed last year that allows the public to sue anyone who performs or facilitates an abortion. Idaho\u2019s is slightly different \u2014 it only allows family to sue abortion providers, but doubles the $10,000 maximum that Texas plaintiffs can seek.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/idaho-gov-signs-law-modeled-on-texas-abortion-bill\/\">National Review<\/a>, Gov.
