Danielle Campoamor, a longtime pro-abortion advocate, now writes for TODAY Parents<\/a>. Yet, in accordance with her advocacy, she often uses the platform to argue against<\/em> parenthood, promoting abortion instead. One of her recent columns included in the Pregnancy section was a propaganda-packed piece<\/a> making chemical abortions seem safe, normal, and easy \u2014 even “sacred.”<\/p>\n

“In 2020, medication abortions overtook surgical abortions in popularity for the first time and now account for more than half of all abortions in the United States, according to data collected by the Guttmacher Institute, a policy and research organization devoted to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights,” Campoamor wrote, continuing, “analysts there say they expect the medication abortion trend to continue increasing.”<\/p>\n

Campoamor did not disclose that the Guttmacher Institute is not an unbiased policy and research organization, but is instead a staunchly pro-abortion group that formerly served as the research arm for Planned Parenthood<\/a>. She further goes on to add that, in regard to chemical abortions, “these medications are safer than Tylenol and Viagra, and 14 times safer than childbirth.”<\/p>\n

Leaving aside the fact that the abortion pill regimen is taken for the purpose of ending a human life in the womb, the notion of the abortion pill being safer than Tylenol is simply not true<\/a>. Many of the study manufacturers claiming the abortion pill regimen is safe actually have ties to the abortion industry<\/a>\u00a0and are far from unbiased. Only about half of all states report complications from abortions, and many women are told to lie and tell ER staff that they are miscarrying when they have to have emergency care following a chemical abortion. This makes the truth about abortion pill safety impossible to know. In addition, numerous<\/a> studies<\/a> show a 6% complication rate with chemical abortions; a 2021 population-based longitudinal cohort study<\/a> on the abortion pill found that the rate of emergency room visits following a chemical abortion increased over 500% between 2002 and 2015 within the study population.<\/p>\n

Campoamor went on to feature five women who have undergone chemical abortions, all of whom made it seem like the easiest medical procedure there is. “There was a comfort and a beauty in being able to go through everything in the comfort of my own home, and in knowing that I didn’t have to continue my pregnancy,” one woman said. Another said, “The pain was pretty manageable \u2014 I would say no worse than many periods and menstrual cramping I\u2019ve experienced, and nothing close to my Pitocin-induced labor. (During my abortion) I snuggled with my baby, gave him a bath, read him books and put him to bed. Then I curled up with my heating pad and my husband and my dog, and ate the treats my friends brought me \u2014 brownies, ice cream, and homemade chicken noodle soup.”<\/p>\n

One woman did have a bad experience, but still promotes abortion; she has become an abortion doula, sits on the board of an abortion fund, and said women need a “sacred” space in which to kill their preborn children. “[N]ot everyone has access to a private space but it is important to create a sacred space to safely have an abortion,” she said. “Just like I support creating a sacred space for other birth or reproductive health services, it is important that we honor individuals as they are terminating a pregnancy.”<\/p>\n

Yet countless women have shared much different experiences with the abortion pill, telling of extreme pain<\/a>, hemorrhaging<\/a>, incomplete abortion that required a surgical procedure, and the trauma of seeing their now-dead baby<\/a> face to face after the abortion.<\/p>\n

Campoamor once angered even pro-abortion advocates by comparing miscarriages to abortion<\/a>, spread misleading propaganda<\/a> for Planned Parenthood, complained about a lack of abortion ads<\/a> on television, advised parents to tell their children about aborted siblings to “end abortion stigma<\/a>,” and said that while preborn children have heartbeats, her heartbeat \u201cmatters more<\/a>.\u201d She is clearly not an unbiased source on the subject of abortion, yet has seemingly been given free rein to spread her pro-abortion agenda on the mainstream TODAY website, writing largely to\u00a0parents<\/em>.<\/p>\n
