Last week, Russian forces invaded Ukraine. In the process, Russian troops have been specifically targeting residential areas, killing and injuring many and sending countless others fleeing underground, into subways-turned-bomb shelters. Yet in the midst of all the fear and death, there was a tiny miracle: the birth of a healthy baby.<\/p>\n

Hanna Hopko, a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament, posted about the joyous news on Facebook<\/a>, including a picture of the newborn. “Mia was born this night in stressful environment – bombing of Kyiv,” she wrote. “Her mom is happy after this challenging birth giving and immediately departing to shelter.”<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old mother was reportedly<\/a> assisted by police, who rushed to help after hearing her screams. After the delivery in the bomb shelter, both mother and baby were taken to the hospital, where they are said to be doing well.<\/p>\n
