Kansans will have a chance to protect both mother and child from an unregulated abortion industry in a culminating vote on the <\/span>Value Them Both Amendment\u00a0<\/span>scheduled for August<\/span>.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0This is thanks to a pro-life coalition that sought to quickly address the <\/span>Kansas Supreme Court\u2019s 2019<\/span><\/a> ruling that abortion is a fundamental right within the Kansas constitution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The threat to the lives of preborn Kansans necessitated such an amendment to protect them when in 2019, \u201ct<\/span>he court took up the question of a constitutional right to abortion after <\/span>doctors Herber <\/span>Hodes and his daughter, Traci Nauser, challenged a ban on dilation and evacuation abortions passed by the Legislature in 2015,\u201d <\/span>NPR<\/span><\/a> reported.\u00a0<\/span>During a D&E or dismemberment procedure, a preborn child is killed when the abortionist tears her arms and legs from her torso before crushing her skull. Dangers to women include a perforated uterus and hemorrhaging.<\/p>\n
