{"id":262356,"date":"2022-02-09T18:40:28","date_gmt":"2022-02-10T00:40:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=262356"},"modified":"2022-02-09T14:40:21","modified_gmt":"2022-02-09T20:40:21","slug":"whistleblowers-abortion-owner-sexual-abuse-disturbing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/whistleblowers-abortion-owner-sexual-abuse-disturbing\/","title":{"rendered":"Whistleblowers: Abortion facility owner concealed sexual abuse, exhibited &#8216;disturbing&#8217; behavior"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three former abortion workers have accused their boss, the head of a North Carolina abortion facility, of lying about the status of her nursing license, among other bizarre and unethical behaviors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/exclusive-unlicensed-nurse-lived-at-abortion-clinic-brandished-shotgun-in-particularly-disturbing-incident-whistleblower\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Daily Wire<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the whistleblowers previously worked at Family Reproductive Health, an abortion facility owned and operated by Deborah Jane Walsh. As the outlet reported, Walsh passed herself off as a nurse on the facility\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familyreproductive.com\/index.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, even though her license expired in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Represented by the Thomas More Society, the former employees said they are coming forward to warn the public and \u201cstop the deception, fraud, and criminal practices by their former boss.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cShe would tell patients unusual things, such as the abortion was only being performed on a \u2018spirit\u2019 or a \u2018fairy.\u2019 Ms. Walsh\u2019s unusual behavior combined with her keeping a firearm on the premises made clinic staff, including myself, fearful for our safety and the safety of others,\u201d one of the former employees said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the whistleblowers also alleged that Walsh had turned a blind eye to underage abortions and even enabled sex trafficking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI saw a man bring to the clinic a girl seeking an abortion. The girl seeking an abortion appeared to be under 16 years of age, although I did not verify her age, since I was not involved in her care. Later, another worker at the clinic told me the same man had been there on prior occasions with different women or girls each time,\u201d the whistleblower said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another former employee accused Walsh of illegally living at the abortion facility, claiming she slept and cooked there, even keeping a stove and a bed in her office. According to the report, Walsh frequently took melatonin and Benadryl, which often made her appear \u201cdisoriented and confused.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a \u201cdisturbing incident,\u201d one whistleblower remembered hearing a gun chambering around before Walsh appeared, brandishing a shotgun. Walsh apparently thought it was nighttime and mistook the facility workers for burglars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walsh also allegedly violated informed consent laws, and failed to properly sterilize equipment and properly dispose of biohazardous materials, according to the report. Through their attorneys, the whistleblowers submitted a complaint to the North Carolina Board of Nursing in 2020, but the board declined to take action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn this instance after careful review of the information submitted by you along with additional information obtained through an investigation, no action will be taken against Ms. Deborah Walsh,\u201d the state nursing board wrote in a Jan. 15 letter to the Thomas More Society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The whistleblowers have turned to the Department of Health and Human Services, filing a formal complaint which will hopefully spur authorities to act.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveactionnewsonline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cLike\u201d Live Action News on Facebook<\/a>\u00a0for more pro-life news and commentary!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three former abortion workers have accused their boss, the head of a North Carolina abortion facility, of lying about the status of her nursing license, among other bizarre and unethical behaviors.\u00a0 According to The Daily Wire, the whistleblowers previously worked at Family Reproductive Health, an abortion facility owned and operated by Deborah Jane Walsh.
