Over 50 years ago, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, in his book, “<\/span>Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community<\/span>,” wrote, \u201cReturning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the heels of a November <\/span>study<\/span><\/a> indicating that homicide has now surpassed natural causes of maternal mortality, abortion advocates are pushing the agenda that abortion will save pregnant women from death. In fact, a recent <\/span>New Republic<\/span> article<\/span><\/a> argued that \u201caccess to abortion can mean the difference between life and death.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This study revealed a heinous reality facing pregnant woman today, but abortion advocates who tout the killing of a preborn child as the remedy are missing the mark. Abortion \u2014 an inherently violent act \u2014 is not the answer. Dr. King\u2019s quote is an apt reminder that violence doesn\u2019t solve violence.<\/span><\/p>\n
