Speaking on C-SPAN\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.c-spanvideo.org\/program\/Cec\/start\/0\/stop\/1634\" target=\"_blank\">Newsmakers<\/a>, she claimed that US House leaders\u00a0 attempts to cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood have nothing to do with the budget or the deficit, but have to do with \u201ca political vendetta against women\u2019s health care.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/richards.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2630 alignright\" style=\"margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px;\" title=\"richards\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/richards.jpg\" width=\"235\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">While attempting to defend the $300 million that the nation\u2019s largest abortion provider receives from the government, Richards admitted that at Planned Parenthood: \u201cWe work just like a hospital.\u201d Really? That\u2019s interesting. Because Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell signed a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2011\/03\/28\/virginia-gov-mcdonnell-signs-bill-cracks-down-on-abortion-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\">bill<\/a> this week that requires surgical abortion clinics to be regulated as hospitals or outpatient surgical centers. And Planned Parenthood <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ppav.org\/images\/Update_on_Planned_Parenthood_Attacks.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">complained<\/a> bitterly. But I digress.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Asked about abortion, Richards repeated her usual line that 97% of Planned Parenthood\u2019s provided services are for preventive care and 3% are for abortions. Is that misleading? Well, the <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/analysis-11-1-of-planned-parenthood-clients-in-2009-received-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\">fact<\/a> is 11% of Planned Parenthood\u2019s patients get abortions.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Richards is totally incapable of engaging in a principled debate. She can\u2019t justify abortion, so instead she uses deceptive words to mislead the public and personal attacks to vilify pro-life advocates. Her job, though, includes representing an organization that kills innocent human life.
