Mark my words.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fliveaction%2Fvideos%2F204497305131135%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=476&amp;t=0\" width=\"476\" height=\"591\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, Musk&#8217;s observation coincides with trends being seen worldwide. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that 2020 birth rates for the United States were at an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/vsrr\/vsrr012-508.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all-time low<\/a>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-57003722\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3.6 million babies<\/a> born in the US. That marks a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/05\/05\/993817146\/u-s-birth-rate-fell-by-4-in-2020-hitting-another-record-low\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">four percent decrease<\/a> from the previous year. Currently, the fertility rates in the US are at about 1.6 births per woman, lower than the necessary replacement-level fertility rate at about 2.1 children per woman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/us-birth-rate-falls-economic\/\">U.S. birth rate falls to all-time low, sparking concern for future economy<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Declining birth rates aren&#8217;t just plaguing the US. Across the globe, countries are starting to notice that their birth levels are far below replacement levels. Even <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/china-faces-lowest-birth-rate-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">China<\/a>, which for decades has controlled its population with an extremely oppressive governmental family planning policy, is now facing a demographic crisis. To combat the problem elsewhere, countries like <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/italy-passes-law-increase-birth-rate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/declining-fertility-rates-worldwide-hungary-approach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hungary<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/decades-overpopulation-singapore-couples-more-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Singapore<\/a> are actually providing incentives for people to have more children.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time that Musk has spoken out about the dangers of a declining birth rate.
