Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization<\/em>. Thousands of pro-lifers had gathered in support of Mississippi&#8217;s 15-week abortion restriction, and among the demonstrators standing for life were\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">80 members of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, who had also filed an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/aaplog.org\/aaplog-filed-amicus-curiae-brief-in-dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">amicus brief<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the court.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FProLifeOBGYNs%2Fposts%2F10159256531050590&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"466\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the photo, which appeared in an AP photo syndicate, the doctors are seen wearing lab coats and holding signs reading \u201cDignity for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> our patients\u201d and \u201cPro-life medical professional.&#8221; The AP\u2019s caption read: \u201cHealthcare workers protesting in doctor&#8217;s uniforms outside of the Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 1, 2021,\u201d essentially negating their collective professional expertise and minimizing their presence. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/12\/01\/ap-calls-pro-life-doctors-at-supreme-court-anti-abortion-protesters-wearing-doctors-uniforms\/?fbclid=IwAR1TO9eDhxRdcyGtAwCGs4O9hHGlcuKLdKlK7RIhJFrmD1ut9cVfTJwC_-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Federalist<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported that one AP photo described the pro-life doctors as \u201canti-abortion protesters wearing doctors uniforms.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The photo appeared in multiple AP syndicates, including in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/supreme-court-debates-abortion-case-protesters-counterprotesters-gather-2021-12#some-abortion-opponents-attended-the-protest-in-doctors-uniforms-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an article in Business Insider<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> profiling many of the protesters and counter-protesters present with a segment on the AAPLOG contingent. &#8220;As physicians, we stand against abortion,&#8221; AAPLOG board chair Dr. Christina Francis told Business Insider. &#8220;We&#8217;re here because we care about our patients,&#8221; she continued, saying that women deserve to have more information, not less, when it comes to abortion and its real costs, alternatives to abortion, and options available to support life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/doctor-most-obgyns-dont-do-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Doctor says despite what you might think, most OB\/GYNs don\u2019t take part in abortions<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Francis also spoke to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/diverse-pro-life-rallied-supreme-court-everyone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action News<\/span><\/a>, saying,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u201c[&#8230;W]e were all here together to make a visual statement that abortion is not health care, and that, as medical professionals, we acknowledge that the science shows that preborn children are living human beings from the moment of fertilization, and that abortion is harmful for women. I talked with several other people from within the pro-life movement here today who said how encouraging it was to see 80 white coats in front of the Supreme Court.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite what the AP would have its readers believe, pro-life OB-GYNs are far from rare. OB-GYNs have spoken out about how most\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/doctor-most-obgyns-dont-do-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">do not want to<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> perform abortions.
