Based on an attack campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/google-shuts-live-action-abortion-pill-reversal\/\">laden with falsehoods and misinformation<\/a> from a group calling itself the Center for Countering Digital Hate, Google removed the paid ads from Live Action that pointed women to Heartbeat International&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/reverseabortionpill.com\">Abortion Pill Reversal hotline<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion pill reversal involves administering the natural pregnancy hormone progesterone to counteract the effects of mifepristone, the first drug in the abortion pill regimen, which is a progesterone blocker.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a group of U.S. Senators and Representatives <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/11.30.2021-Google-abortion-pill-reversal-censorship-follow-up-letter-1.pdf\">have sent another letter<\/a>\u00a0to Google, following the corporation&#8217;s unsatisfactory response to the first letter. Instead of reinstating the ads, Google doubled down on its decision to continue censoring ads that offer a potentially lifesaving protocol to women.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K_WLINjq1EU\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/googles-track-record-anti-life-anti-woman\/\">7 reasons why Google\u2019s track record is anti-life and anti-woman<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a letter issued on November 30, the lawmakers wrote:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>We received Google\u2019s response to our letter of September 16. We are deeply disappointed that you have not reversed Google\u2019s unjust decision to censor life-saving information on abortion pill reversal. We had hoped to receive assurances of Google\u2019s commitment to uphold the fundamental principle of freedom of speech and follow the science. Unfortunately, Google\u2019s response only increases our alarm. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>As you know, Google\u2019s international dominance in multiple fields of technology enables it to either safeguard or stifle the free expression of billions of people, including the communication of information that can save lives. Therefore, Google\u2019s ability to independently self-regulate its own content restriction policies is of the highest concern. Google says it prohibits \u201cinaccurate claims or claims that entice the user with an improbable result (even if this result is possible) as the likely outcome a user can expect.\u201d Google also suggests Live Action has made \u201charmful health claims\u201d by promoting abortion pill reversal (APR).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Google\u2019s only evidence of Live Action\u2019s violation appears to be one statement from the pro-abortion American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), which says APR is \u201cnot based on science.\u201d ACOG\u2019s statement is simply false, and Google\u2019s repetition of this pro-abortion organization\u2019s false claim seriously calls into question its commitment to, \u201cwork without political bias.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Progesterone has been administered since the 1950s to women experiencing miscarriage or with a history of miscarriage, to help prevent pregnancy loss. It is this same principle that drives abortion pill reversal. This same hormone is also widely used by the fertility industry, as a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/google-shuts-live-action-abortion-pill-reversal\/\">previous article<\/a> by Live Action News noted:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Currently, studies have estimated that [progesterone] can be used to prevent approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.rcog.org.uk\/en\/news\/progesterone-could-prevent-8450-miscarriages-a-year-finds-new-research\/&amp;sa=D&amp;source=editors&amp;ust=1631642852546000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3XxDr_mHQQHaBz97zfyzDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">8,450 miscarriages a year<\/a>.\u00a0Essentially, the process of abortion pill reversal is essentially the <strong>same<\/strong> process doctors already use during a threatened miscarriage. The American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNs states in a <a href=\"https:\/\/aaplog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/2019-AAPLOG-Statement-on-Abortion-Pill-Reversal.pdf\">fact sheet<\/a>, \u201cThe natural hormone progesterone has been used for over 40 years in the IVF industry, to help women carry pregnancies after the embryo is transferred into her womb. There is a very long and solid history of safety of the use of natural progesterone in pregnancy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Despite these facts, Google chose to remove paid ads placed on its platform by Live Action based on the word of a pro-abortion organization. This group of lawmakers seeks accountability and an assurance of freedom of expression for the pro-life view.\u00a0The Daily Signal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2021\/11\/30\/gop-lawmakers-demand-google-stop-censoring-pro-life-ads-live-action-abortion\/\">reports<\/a> that some of the senators hand-delivered the letter to Google CEO\u00a0Sundar Pichai at the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmakers signing on to the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/11.30.2021-Google-abortion-pill-reversal-censorship-follow-up-letter-1.pdf\">letter<\/a> include U.S. Senators Steve Daines, Ted Cruz, James Lankford, Marco Rubio, Mike Braun, and Cindy Hyde-Smith, as well as a number of U.S. Representatives, including Reps.
