{"id":257785,"date":"2021-11-26T14:39:36","date_gmt":"2021-11-26T20:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=257785"},"modified":"2021-11-24T23:57:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-25T05:57:55","slug":"abortion-peru-lawsuit-pro-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-peru-lawsuit-pro-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Pro-abortion organization in Peru loses lawsuit against pro-life news organization"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/249474\/planned-parenthood-grant-recipient-in-peru-loses-in-court-in-attempt-to-silence-aci-prensa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Catholic News Agency<\/a> (CNA), Promsex, an organization promoting legal abortion in Peru, has lost its defamation lawsuit against the pro-life organization ACI Prensa, CNA&#8217;s Spanish language news partner.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit from Promsex was an attempt to silence ACI Prensa for revealing in 2015 that Planned Parenthood gave more than $3 million to NGO INPPARES, Catholics for the Right to Decide, and Promsex in order to push for the legalization of abortion in Peru.<\/p>\n<p>In an August 2015 piece, ACI Prensa called Promsex &#8220;promoters of child dismemberment&#8221; and &#8220;abortionists.&#8221; The most common procedure during the second trimester is D&amp;E (dilation and evacuation), also known as dismemberment abortion. During a D&amp;E, the preborn child is killed when the abortionist tears her arms and legs off using a grasping clamp before crushing her skull.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Promsex then sued for defamation, and in June 2018, a lower court ruled in their favor before an appeals court ruled in favor of ACI Prensa. The latest ruling supports that court&#8217;s decision to drop all charges against the pro-life group.<\/p>\n<p>Promsex had received more than $70,000 from Planned Parenthood between 2013 and 2015. $160,000 of that money had been used to &#8220;strengthen the public debate to reduce the stigma of abortion&#8221; and &#8220;to make it a political issue,&#8221; as well as help form &#8220;a favorable opinion&#8221; of legalized abortion from members of Congress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-exploits-rape-survivors-ecuador-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned Parenthood exploits rape survivors\u2019 stories in effort to decriminalize abortion in Ecuador<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The pro-abortion organization has also received money from the International Planned Parenthood Federation and Gynuity Health Projects for a meeting of its Latin American Consortium Against Unsafe Abortion. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-complications-uk-mirror-us-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gyunity Health Projects<\/a> is a research group that conducted clinical trials to <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/expand-access-abortion-pill-tied-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expand access<\/a> to the abortion pill. Gynuity&#8217;s president and founder, Beverly Winikoff, M.D., once <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/founder-911-saving-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">credited<\/a> the September 11, 2001, attacks with &#8220;saving&#8221; the abortion pill by dominating the news cycle when the first death from the pill in Canada came to light.<\/p>\n<p>ACI Prensa has been instrumental in exposing the truth about women who are in jail for infanticide in El Salvador, while <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/el-salvador-miscarriage-murder-rogel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media groups<\/a> claim the women are in prison for miscarriage. In reality, evidence shows that the women\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/newborns-el-salvador-murdered-media-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strangled or stabbed<\/a>\u00a0their newborn babies. Despite this, some have been released from prison.<\/p>\n<p>On September 24, the Second Constitutional Chamber of Superior Court of Justice of Lima dismissed the defamation suit, but the ruling wasn&#8217;t immediately made available. This latest ruling is not only a win for pro-life organizations.
