Abortion pill expansion schemes flouting Food and Drug Administration (FDA) safety regulations continue to increase as threats to Roe v. Wade<\/em> loom in the distance. Unregulated online abortion pill dispensaries are busy\u00a0shipping handfulls<\/span><\/a> of so-called \u201cadvanced provision<\/a>” of abortion pills\u00a0to women without confirmation of pregnancy<\/a> and with little if any medical oversight, while the Biden-Harris Administration’s FDA remains silent.<\/p>\n

Over the past several years, the abortion industry has rolled out numerous schemes to expand access to the abortion pill. Live Action News has recapped many of these below.<\/p>\n

Demedicalizing abortion<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Abortion industry insiders are seeking<\/a> to lift an important FDA safety regulation on the abortion pill (mifepristone or Mifeprex) called REMS and expand its use through self-managed<\/a> and DIY abortion<\/a>.\u00a0In fact,\u00a0well before<\/a>\u00a0the pandemic, the industry\u00a0expanded<\/a>\u00a0its abortion pill clinical trials and then\u00a0rolled out<\/a>\u00a0a \u201cno test<\/a>\u201d abortion pill protocol, which\u00a0some medical professionals have said<\/a>\u00a0endangers women.<\/p>\n

This demedicalized scheme<\/a> not only removes important labs, tests, and in-person examinations or counseling, but also puts the responsibility of seeing the remains of the child<\/a> and disposing of those remains squarely on the teenager or woman taking the pills.<\/p>\n

In other words, while the abortion industry morphs itself into a group of call centers and drive-thrus, pocketing a great deal of money in the process, the abortion client will inevitably bear the real cost.<\/p>\n

Selling abortions past FDA-approved gestational limits<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Abortion insiders are openly\u00a0committing<\/a>\u00a0abortions past the approved FDA gestational age limit of 70 days (10 weeks) in violation of the REMS safety requirement, knowing that\u00a0the\u00a0failure rate<\/a>\u00a0of the abortion pill increases with gestational age.<\/p>\n

For example, Planned Parenthood\u2019s website makes it clear<\/a> that the abortion corporation is not abiding by FDA limits and is advertising the deadly pill regimen to 11 weeks\u00a0\u2013 past the FDA-approved limit. At that point, the failure rate jumps to\u00a013%\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 nearly\u00a0double<\/em>\u00a0the failure rate for the abortion pill given just two weeks earlier.<\/p>\n

Then, when the abortion pill fails, women often are told to return for additional drugs or a surgical abortion. In addition, the industry also advises women experiencing a chemical abortion complication to report to an emergency department<\/a> and claim they are experiencing a natural miscarriage.<\/p>\n

This kind of deceptive action will distort the true numbers of complications which are already sparsely collected. To date, there is no federal requirement within the United States to report any abortion complication.<\/p>\n

Clinical trials to expand abortion<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Pharmacy dispensing<\/strong>: Under the current REMS (temporarily suspended<\/a> for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic), the abortion pill must be dispensed in-person by a certified prescriber and not in a pharmacy or over-the-counter. Yet, former\u00a0NARAL board member<\/a>\u00a0and abortionist\u00a0Daniel A. Grossman<\/a>, who has\u00a0ties to at least one organization\u00a0funded<\/a>\u00a0by abortion pill manufacturer Danco Laboratories,\u00a0has been busy conducting\u00a0clinical trials<\/a>\u00a0for pharmacy\u00a0dispensing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Grossman\u2019s\u00a0in-person<\/a>\u00a0pharmacy scheme and\u00a0mail order trial<\/a>\u00a0are both tied to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), a\u00a0training ground<\/a>\u00a0for abortionists. He is also planning to test \u201cdispensing mifepristone via a mail-order\u00a0pharmacy<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

TelAbortion (mail order)<\/strong>: This Trojan Horse<\/a>\u00a0mail order abortion pill concept was sponsored by\u00a0Gynuity Health Projects (GHP),<\/a>\u00a0a group\u00a0funded<\/a>\u00a0by organizations with deep historic ties to the American\u00a0eugenics<\/a>\u00a0movement. The so-called Direct-To-Consumer<\/a>\u00a0scheme was created to enable the abortion pill to be sent via mail after a\u00a0TelAbortion<\/a>\u00a0or telemedicine interview.<\/p>\n

Results of the\u00a0Telabortion plan<\/a>\u00a0(which implemented more stringent safety requirements than usual)\u00a0revealed<\/a> that\u00a0six percent<\/em>\u00a0of \u201cknown outcomes\u201d from the abortion pill were severe enough to result in emergency room or urgent care visits, with additional women experiencing serious adverse events. They mirror those recently found<\/a> by researchers in the U.K.<\/p>\n

If we extrapolate that number out nationally using figures based on the Guttmacher Institute\u2019s\u00a02017<\/a>\u00a0total of 339,640 chemical abortions, this could result in nearly\u00a020,380<\/strong>\u00a0women\u00a0per year<\/em>\u00a0seeking care at an ER or urgent care facility after taking the abortion pill.<\/p>\n

Virtual abortion pill dispensaries<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Under the guise of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Biden-Harris administration\u2019s FDA has\u00a0temporarily allowed<\/a>\u00a0the abortion pill to be dispensed online by approved prescribers. As a result,\u00a0there has been an explosion of online abortion pill dispensaries, with philosophies that better resemble back-alley<\/a> abortion businesses than actual health care.\u00a0Currently, there are no laws that specifically regulate virtual abortion pill dispensaries like brick-and-mortar abortion facilities, and for that reason, women should be extremely cautious.<\/p>\n

Live Action News has identified several of these questionable dispensaries:<\/p>\n

  • Abortion on Demand (AOD<\/a>), which uses<\/a> American Mail Order Pharmacy (AMOP)<\/li>\n
  • CHOIX, Inc.,\u00a0operated<\/a> in part by “engineers” as well as “nurse practitioners”<\/li>\n
  • Hey Jane,\u00a0founded<\/a> by a former marketing manager<\/li>\n
  • Just the Pill<\/a>, which also goes by the name “Abortion Delivered<\/a>” on Twitter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    There are also numerous international abortion pill dispensaries like\u00a0SafeAbortionRX<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0DKT International, the latter of which was\u00a0founded<\/a> in 1989 by porn tycoon<\/a> Phil D. Harvey and operates \u201coffices in 24 countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

    DKT is funded<\/a> by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and\u00a0may be the marketing company behind pills that are being illegally shipped from India to the U.S.\u00a0Harvey, along with DKT\u2019s CEO<\/a>\u00a0Christopher H. Purdy, serve on the board of U.S. abortion chain Carafem, whose corporate name\u00a0FemHealth USA, Inc<\/a>. appears to be a DKT affiliate, according to\u00a0DKT\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0latest\u00a0financial audit<\/a>.<\/a><\/p>\n

    Despite a\u00a0previously issued<\/a> cease and desist\u00a0letter,<\/a>\u00a0Aid Access\u00a0continues to ship abortion pills into the United States in defiance<\/a> of FDA warnings. A spokesperson for Aid Access recently claimed<\/a> they have “nine US Providers” serving in “18 states<\/a>” while the group’s founder Rebecca Gomperts<\/a>\u00a0provides abortion pills in the rest of the states.<\/p>\n

    Aid Access is also openly advertising<\/a> its willingness to ship abortion pills to women who aren’t even pregnant<\/em> and even asking women who fill out their online consultation form<\/a> if they would be “interested in sharing your [their] with a journalist”.<\/p>\n

    A woman in Texas who ordered from Aid Access recently told The Insider<\/a>\u00a0she ordered a “set of pills” in the event that “she or a friend needed an abortion in the future,” The Insider reported.<\/p>\n

    In addition, PlanC, a referral abortion pill website, was used by a Texas woman to add\u00a0abortion pills to her “arsenal.” She recently\u00a0told<\/a> KVUE she was not pregnant but was stockpiling abortion pills “[f]or a woman, a friend, a family member, a neighbor who is in need and needs these pills.”<\/p>\n

    In the video below, the news outlet acknowledged the woman purchased “three prescriptions of mifepristone and misoprostol.”<\/p>\n

    Interestingly, PlanC\u00a0warns<\/a>\u00a0women of the “potential risks of using” Aid Access, since their pills are “generic versions of the medication which are shipped from an Indian online pharmacy.”<\/p>\n
