An amicus brief<\/a>\u00a0filed on behalf of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA<\/a>), the Abortion Care Network (ACN), the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, Medical Students for Choice, the National Abortion Federation (NAF), and Physicians for Reproductive Health (PRH), failed to address the question<\/a>\u00a0before the Supreme Court, which is, “may a State may prohibit elective abortions before viability<\/a>?\u201d<\/p>\n

The so-called \u201cviability rule<\/a>\u201d was based on an arbitrary<\/a> cut-off,\u00a0typically\u00a0defined<\/a>\u00a0as the age at which a child can survive outside the womb. It first appeared in\u00a0Roe v. Wade<\/em>, and was not determined<\/a> based on science but instead was a \u201clegislative\u201d or political move by the Court considered<\/a> by many legal scholars to have no basis in the Constitution.<\/p>\n

The case before the Supreme Court, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization<\/a><\/em>, would\u00a0save tens of thousands<\/a>\u00a0of human babies if upheld. It centers around a Mississippi abortion law which restricts abortion after 15 weeks gestation (approximately four months). Abortions at this point involve dilation and evacuation or D&E, a gruesome (and much more risky) dismemberment procedure, described by former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino in the\u00a0video<\/a>\u00a0below, which some claim should have\u00a0no place<\/a>\u00a0in a civilized society.<\/p>\n

But instead of addressing the question before the Court, Planned Parenthood et al.<\/em>\u00a0trotted out abortion providers who glorified their deadly craft while painting themselves as saviors of women.<\/p>\n
