But pro-lifers have reason to celebrate: Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) introduced the first bill in the 113<sup>th<\/sup> Congress to defund the abortion business and abortion giant Planned Parenthood. LifeNews <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2013\/01\/04\/bill-to-de-fund-planned-parenthood-re-introduced-in-congress\/\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Blackburn informed LifeNews today that she has introduced the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act (H.R. 61), which would stop the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from providing federal family planning assistance under Title X to abortion businesses until they certify they won\u2019t provide and refer for abortions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And thank goodness a woman introduced the bill.\u00a0 Mike Pence, the House of Representatives\u2019 previous champion of pro-life legislation, is about to take office as the governor of Indiana, where he\u2019ll continue his pro-life work at the state level with the help of his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sba-list.org\/pro-life-women-leaders\/state\/sue-ellspermann-indiana-lieutenant-governor\">pro-life female lieutenant governor<\/a>, Sue Ellspermann.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, abortion advocates alleged that pro-lifers and proponents of religious freedom were waging a war on women.\u00a0 Todd Akin\u2019s and Richard Mourdock\u2019s poorly phrased comments about abortion fueled pro-abortion claims that the pro-life movement is full of angry male sexists. The Planned Parenthood Action Fund ran <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2012\/09\/28\/Planned-Parenthood-Launches-Anti-Romney-Ad-Campaign\">vicious attack ads<\/a> against pro-life presidential candidate Mitt Romney, harping that his views were incompatible with \u201cwomen\u2019s health\u201d \u2013 even though they were perfectly compatible with protecting the health of unborn girls and protecting all women from being targeted by the abortion industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a woman, I believe America deserves better than abortion. America shouldn\u2019t celebrate abortion, and our taxpayers shouldn\u2019t subsidize abortion with taxpayer money,\u201d Blackburn told LifeNews.<\/p>\n<p>As Representative Blackburn pioneers the legislative battle against Planned Parenthood in 2013, abortion activists won\u2019t be able to accuse her of waging a war against her own gender, but that doesn\u2019t mean they won\u2019t continue to try to make pro-life women out to be idiots.<\/p>\n<p>The abortion-promoting website Jezebel just released an article titled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/jezebel.com\/5973260\/101-facts-about-100-women-of-the-house-and-senate\">101 Facts About Women of the House and Senate<\/a>,\u201d in which they note that Representative Martha Roby of Alabama \u201c[o]nce served on the board of the embarrassingly-named crisis pregnancy center \u2018Sav-a-Life,\u2019\u201d \u2013 never mind that crisis pregnancy centers help women \u2013 and New Hampshire\u2019s Senator Kelly Ayotte ran a \u201cborderline-zealotous [sic] defense of New Hampshire&#8217;s parental notification laws for minors who wish to receive abortions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The article also gives a shout-out to former EMILY\u2019s List executive director Representative Rosa L. DeLauro and declares abortion-supporting Republican woman Representative Shelley Moore Capito a \u201cunicorn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite sarcasm and deception from the other side, the bottom line is that the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act offers hope to everyone \u2013 including the majority of the public who opposes taxpayer funding of abortion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8220;war on women&#8221; makes <em>total sense now<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":225,"featured_media":25466,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false},"categories":[11],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.7 -
