As attacks continue to mount<\/a> against abortion pill reversal from mainstream media and those who profit directly from abortion, \u00a0the <\/span>Charlotte Lozier Institute<\/span><\/a>\u2019s recently-published report, “<\/span>Abortion Pill Reversal: A Record of Safety and Efficacy<\/span><\/a>,” provides a definitive overview of the chemical abortion and Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) processes, and analyzes claims of APR\u2019s efficacy as well as concerns about its safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report notes that the increase in chemical abortions and the ease with which one can be obtained has naturally led to a concurrent rise in the number of women who are experiencing regret after taking the first pill in the two-part regimen. This, in turn, has led to increased interest in the development of a method to reverse or arrest the abortion process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Lozier report explains, chemical abortions rely, in part, upon the action of mifepristone, which blocks the action of progesterone, thereby starving the preborn child of nutrients, eventually leading to death. Because mifepristone acts to block progesterone, APR relies upon increasing progesterone for its efficacy. It introduces additional progesterone \u201cto outnumber and outcompete the mifepristone,\u201d thereby nullifying the latter\u2019s effects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
