Robin Chappelle Golston, the president and CEO for Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts, is joining New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration as the executive deputy secretary to the governor. The appointment comes on the heels of Hochul’s vow to make New York a “safe harbor” for abortion.<\/p>\n

Hochul took office after Andrew Cuomo was ousted following numerous accusations of sexual harassment, actions which led some abortion advocates to say they felt “duped” by Cuomo \u2014 who helped New York become one of the most abortion-friendly states in the country. Chappelle Golston was evidently not one of them, however, and told Spectrum News that she was merely excited for Hochul to take office instead, and remained laser focused on abortion.<\/p>\n

“I don’t feel duped. I think we were still able to do a lot of good things for women and girls throughout this state,” she said<\/a>. “So we’re looking at moving forward and making sure New York can still be a leader. I think looking backwards \u2014 people can say justice is served now, but we’re really excited about having the first female governor.”<\/p>\n

Furthermor, Chappelle Golston told the Times Union<\/a> how Planned Parenthood was looking forward to the Hochul administration, explaining, \u201cWe are really proud to have a governor who will say ‘abortion.'”<\/p>\n

Hochul announced Chappelle Golston’s announcement last week<\/a>. “As we work to tackle the most important issues facing our state, we need a top tier team to deliver real change to New Yorkers,” Gov. Hochul said. “These talented and dedicated individuals will bring the skills and experience we need to move New York forward and restore trust in government.”<\/p>\n

Considering Hochul’s recent remarks, hiring a Planned Parenthood executive is hardly surprising. In a press conference<\/a>, she announced her plans to make New York even more abortion-friendly than it already is, including being accessible for people from out-of-state. Additionally, Hochul wrote a letter<\/a> to Facebook founder, chairman, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg demanding that Facebook limit the spread of pro-life messaging.<\/p>\n

Given this pro-abortion extremism, Chappelle Golston will be well-placed to help Hochul in continuing to advance a pro-abortion agenda.<\/p>\n
