40 Days for Life kicked off its annual fall campaign on September 22. The campaign is a global pro-life movement in which people rally to pray outside abortion facilities with the aim of changing hearts and minds about abortion. According to the organization, this fall’s initiative will take place in 612 cities<\/a> across the world, with volunteers praying, fasting, and holding 24-hour vigils outside abortion facilities.<\/p>\n

The campaign is already off to a great start this fall. According to a September 27 update<\/a>, organizers know of 52 babies who have been saved from abortion in the first five days alone, including one mom in Cleveland who changed her mind<\/a> about aborting triplets. After speaking to a sidewalk counselor named Fred, the mother asked him,\u00a0“Don’t you think that is too many at once?” Fred told her, “Not at all,” adding that triplets are a “wonderful… beautiful gift from God” and a blessing. In response to Fred’s encouragement, the woman decided to keep her children, adding that she is going to name one of them after Fred.<\/p>\n

“With the changing abortion landscape, as well as things happening legislatively in the states and nationally in the Supreme Court, there has never been a greater time for this coordinated pro-life movement in our nation,” said<\/a> Shawn Carney, president and CEO of 40 Days for Life. “Great strides are being made to end abortion, and we know these peaceful vigils make a difference,” he added.<\/p>\n

Carney said the campaign has three aims:\u00a0“to empower pregnant women to choose life for their babies, to inspire abortion workers to step away from their industries, and to work toward closing abortion facilities in our country and around the world.”<\/p>\n
