Pro-life watchdog group\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/malpractice-suit-carhart-abortion-staff-covered-in-blood-during-horrific-botched-late-term-abortion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operation Rescue<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has reported grisly details from a malpractice suit filed on July 12 against Carhart, one of his collaborators, and one of his facilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plaintiff Haimanot Aragaw filed the suit after experiencing injuries from a gruesomely botched late-term abortion at Carhart\u2019s facility in Bethesda, Maryland, which is ironically named <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/clinics\/abortionclinics-org-bethesda-md\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CARE<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2014<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0an acronym for \u201cClinics for Abortion and Reproductive Excellence.\u201d Excellence is far from what Aragaw claims to have received, however, when she presented at the facility to abort her 23-week preborn child, who had been diagnosed with Down syndrome.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Aragaw-v-Carhart-Complaint-7-12-2021.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">court records<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Anh-Chi Dang Do, an abortionist working at Carhart\u2019s facility, improperly attempted to use the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/aspiration\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">suction aspiration<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> abortion procedure, which is only meant to be used during the first trimester. After that point, the preborn child is too large and well-developed to be killed via suction aspiration. Following the first trimester, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dilation and evacuation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/D&amp;E or dismemberment method is generally utilized. At 23 weeks, the age of Aragaw\u2019s child, suction aspiration was not the industry standard.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12372\" style=\"width: 502px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12372\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-12372\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/20-weeks-human-fetus3-e1548532504939-700x475.jpg\" alt=\"abortions,abortion, late-term, aborted, baby olivia\" width=\"492\" height=\"334\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-12372\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A 20-week-old unborn baby.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/late-term-abortionist-mangled-patients-babies-traumatized\/\">Late-term abortionist \u2018mangled\u2019 two patients and their babies so badly that ER staff were traumatized<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CFZDhM5Gwhk\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Court records report that Aragaw experienced severe bleeding during Do\u2019s attempted suction abortion \u2014 &#8220;to the extent that the Defendants and members of the support staff became covered in blood.\u201d At this point, Carhart was called in to assist, but \u201cthey were unsuccessful in completing the suction abortion and in controlling the excessive bleeding.\u201d Fire and Rescue was called, and Aragaw was taken to the hospital. By the time she arrived, she was reported to be \u201cin critical condition from the excessive loss of blood and injury to her uterus.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emergency surgery was performed for suspected uterine perforation\/rupture and \u201cretained fetal parts.\u201d The surgery revealed that Aragaw\u2019s uterus had been torn \u201cfrom 2 to 10 o\u2019clock\u201d around the circumference of the cervix. Her appendix was also permanently injured. The preborn child was still present, as well, partially inside of the uterus, and partly outside; the child&#8217;s head was \u201cloosely attached to [the] thorax,\u201d and the child&#8217;s arms and one leg had been ripped off. In order to save Aragaw\u2019s life, it was necessary to perform a complete hysterectomy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is hardly the first time a woman has been severely injured by Leroy Carhart or one of his cohorts. At least two women, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/noblog\/in-memory-of-christin-gilbert-1985-2005\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christin Gilbert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/morbelli-autopsy-does-not-address-carharts-abandonment-of-abortion-patient\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jennifer Morbelli<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, have died from complications related to Carhart\u2019s abortions; to date, he has escaped justice for his role in both deaths. In 2020, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/whistleblower-2-women-suffered-gruesome-injuries-retained-baby-parts-emergency-surgery-after-late-term-abortions-in-maryland\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">whistleblower<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revealed the horrific details of two botched late-term abortions performed by Carhart a mere nine days apart. In both cases, the preborn child had been \u201cshoved through\u201d massive uterine tears.
