With the COVID-19 pandemic, she had struggled to find a new job, as well as child care for Mylo. \u201cA lot of people are not able to pay for the childcare if they\u2019re unemployed even if there is one parent that is employed,\u201d she said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmov.com\/news\/st-louis-county-mom-goes-viral-on-tiktok-for-bringing-son-to-job-interview\/article_d12df0ce-d867-11eb-b43b-47129061524e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an interview with KMOV4<\/a>. \u201cYou have so many other bills that you have to pay for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mrXAJdEGzGE\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She finally got an interview for a new job, followed by a request for a second interview. But her excitement quickly soured: the interview was last-minute, none of her family members were able to watch Mylo, and she thought she would need to give up on the job. \u201cI was just honest and let them know that I wasn\u2019t able to have childcare, so I may need to schedule it for another time,&#8221; she said. &#8220;So, immediately their response was, we\u2019re child friendly. So, I just let them know, okay we\u2019ll be there in a few hours and Mylo will be interview ready.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So Mundwiller documented their process getting ready, which included putting Mylo in a dapper suit and writing a resume for him, too. And it quickly went viral. While child care can be difficult to find at any time, during the pandemic, it has become even harder, something a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2021\/01\/26\/a-rising-share-of-working-parents-in-the-u-s-say-its-been-difficult-to-handle-child-care-during-the-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pew Research poll<\/a> reflected. Mundwiller&#8217;s video shows how difficult life for working parents can be today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels exciting, it feels scary. It feels wonderful to be able to give people a voice,\u201d she said of the experience. \u201cHopefully employers all over will start listening to this conversation and read the comments. It\u2019s just such an important thing to continue this momentum to talk about it, hopefully be better as a country.
