Back in December, British online news source The Guardian published a story with a notable headline<\/a>, reading, \u201cMicroplastics revealed in the placentas of unborn babies.\u201d\u00a0The article sounded the alarm about a study that found tiny plastic particles in the placentas of pregnant women. These particles, the study authors claimed, might harm babies.<\/p>\n

The article states, \u201cMicroplastic particles have been revealed in the placentas of unborn babies for the first time, which the researchers said was ‘a matter of great concern’.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s so striking about the statement is The Guardian\u2019s use of the phrase \u201cunborn babies.\u201d It seems that the editors of The Guardian know that the being carried in a woman\u2019s womb is a baby \u2013 at least when that child is wanted.<\/p>\n

Yet in light of some other articles The Guardian has published, the use of this phrase is surprising.<\/p>\n

In 2015, The Guardian published an article<\/a> by Lindy West of Shout Your Abortion, who wrote:<\/p>\n

There are no \u201cgood\u201d abortions and \u201cbad\u201d abortions, because an abortion is just a medical procedure, reproductive healthcare is healthcare, and it is a fact without caveat that a foetus is not a person.<\/em><\/p>\n

Another 2015 article was written by an anonymous British abortionist with the title, “Being an abortion doctor has taught me a lot about life<\/a>.” The abortionist claimed, “The staff in the clinic show boundless compassion.” Obviously, this claim could only be referring to the treatment of women and not of the preborn children who are being killed.<\/p>\n

Much more recently, on May 23, The Guardian published a news piece titled, “The Texas abortion ban is a performance of misogyny. But it might get worse<\/a>.”\u00a0This article was in reference to Texas’s recently passed ban on abortions after a preborn baby\u2019s heartbeat can be detected.\u00a0The article opens with, “Unconstitutional anti-abortion laws are often a grim kind of misogynist political theater.”<\/p>\n

This is not fair and balanced reporting. It is blatant pro-abortion propaganda.<\/p>\n

On May 19, The Guardian published an article titled, “Texas governor signs extreme six-week abortion ban into law<\/a>.”\u00a0In reference to a provision of the law that allows a lawsuit to be brought against an abortionist who violates the ban, The Guardian says:<\/p>\n

[T]he Texas version absolves the state from enforcing the law. Instead, it allows any private citizen the extraordinary authority to sue an abortion provider \u2013 they do not need to be connected to the patient or even reside in the same state, opening up the floodgates to harassing and frivolous civil lawsuits that could shut down clinics statewide.<\/em><\/p>\n

Again, this reporting is deeply biased, quoted the governor and one pro-life activist but quoting four<\/em> pro-abortion activists and an abortionist\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<\/em>more than twice as many pro-abortion sources than pro-life ones.<\/p>\n

The Guardian also revealed its pro-abortion bias in a 2019 article about pregnancy resource centers, titled, “Inside the ‘fake clinics’ where women are persuaded to carry pregnancies to term<\/a>.”\u00a0The article quotes one pregnancy center worker as saying, \u201cThe heartbeat is at its earliest detection at 18 days, so, just letting you know,\u201d and then adds that she was \u201cunable to provide the science or research behind that assertion.\u201d\u00a0In this way, The Guardian implies that the pro-lifer is lying. However, Oxford University maintains that a preborn baby\u2019s heart begins to be at just 16 days after conception<\/a>. This scientifically factual information could have been found with a simple Google search.<\/p>\n

So we see that in both the guest articles it chooses to run and in the way it covers the news, The Guardian is overwhelmingly biased in favor of abortion. Yet its editors admitted that children in the womb are \u201cunborn babies\u201d; they just admitted it in an article that has nothing to do with abortion.<\/p>\n

This is just more evidence that even those in favor of abortion know that it kills “unborn babies.”<\/p>\n
