A woman’s highly unusual story of giving birth has gone viral on TikTok. Amy Dunbar from Canada shared her labor and delivery experience to participate in a challenge from TikToker @beyondboss<\/a>, asking for users to share shocking or surprising birth stories. And Dunbar’s story seems to be blowing users away.<\/p>\n

“This one is made for me!” Dunbar began. She explained that she had been in labor for 12 hours, but the epidural hadn’t been working. “They did whatever it is that they do to make it work,” she continued. “And it finally was… about 13 hours later.” Still, with the epidural finally working, Dunbar was able to fall asleep. It’s often recommended that moms in labor and delivery rest as much as they can, as the birth process is so intense. In the meantime, the nurse continued to monitor her while she slept.<\/p>\n

While Dunbar was sleeping, she continued to have contractions. \u201cAt some point during me being asleep the nurse who had been monitoring me the whole time turned to my mum and was like, \u2018Is she asleep\u2019. My mum was like, \u2018Yeah, she is,'” Dunbar said. \u201cThe nurse was like, \u2018Hey, great, there was a really big contraction and she\u2019s sleeping, so that means the epidural is working because she didn\u2019t feel it.\u201d<\/p>\n
