(The human heart begins to beat between 16 and 22 days of life after fertilization.) If signed into law as expected, it would go into effect on September 1, 2021. Texas Right to Life <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasrighttolife.com\/breaking-texas-house-passes-heartbeat-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called<\/a> the Act &#8220;the strongest pro-life bill to ever reach the Texas House floor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RaIa4wvPiE4\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Though the law does not include punishments for women who undergo abortions after a heartbeat is detected in their child, it does <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/texas-abortion-health-government-and-politics-a5803c0960ee04e30ad3edc2b1599bdc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allow<\/a> private citizens to file lawsuits against a doctor that commits an abortion on such a child.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-science-ignores-embryonic-heartbeat\/\">Yet another pro-abortion political hit piece ignores science on preborn child\u2019s heartbeat<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Texas Heartbeat Act is the strongest Pro-Life bill passed by the Legislature since Roe v. Wade and will save thousands of lives,&#8221; said Texas Right to Life Senior Legislative Associate Rebecca Parma. &#8220;This is a historic day and now is the time to build on our momentum. State lawmakers must use the remaining weeks of session to pass additional life-saving legislation like the <a href=\"https:\/\/texasrighttolife.us20.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=d4db97bc0f6b3cc032144a0af&amp;id=f193674602&amp;e=08733e4927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas Abolition Strategy<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/texasrighttolife.us20.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=d4db97bc0f6b3cc032144a0af&amp;id=009f0d925e&amp;e=08733e4927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Respecting Texas Patients&#8217; Right to Life Act<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A recent poll of 1200 registered voters by the University of Texas\/Texas Tribune <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/heartbeat-texans-half-ban-abortion-six-weeks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> that 49% of Texas voters support a ban on abortions after six weeks, except in the cases of a medical emergency.
