This year&#8217;s theme, &#8220;You Are Not Alone,&#8221; reflects support for and solidarity with three particular people groups: preborn children, their abortion-vulnerable mothers, as well as senior citizens, the disabled, the mentally ill, and others who are targeted by Canada&#8217;s assisted suicide movement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t0DL3nyoRD4\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>The March website shares sobering statistics on both abortions and assisted suicide in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each year, a culture of fear, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/canada-euthanizing-loneliness\/\">loneliness<\/a> and abandonment is resulting in the death of thousands of <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/rejection-rates-summer-job-skyrocket-canada-abortion\/\">Canadians<\/a> through abortion or lethal\u00a0injection. Each day, 300 Canadian women undergo an abortion, where her baby\u2019s body is ripped from the womb in a brutal procedure.\u00a0 That same day more than 15 vulnerable Canadians will be killed by a doctor under the deceptive euphemism known as Medical Aid in Dying.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The website states, &#8220;Many believe these insidious acts are being carried out in the name of \u2018choice\u2019. The real reason is \u2018fear\u2019 and a government obsessed with promoting a culture of death.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The March emphasizes that &#8220;Pregnancy is a Gift, Not a Disease,&#8221; underscoring the idea that <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/canada-trudeau-covid-19-fund-abortion\/\">abortion does not constitute an essential medical service<\/a>. As Live Action has noted, taking the life of a preborn child by abortion\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-life-replies-abortion-never-medically-necessary\/\">is not medically necessary<\/a>. The March advocates against <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/canadian-mp-end-sex-selective-abortion\/\">sex-selective abortions<\/a>, which it says 84% of Canadians oppose, and states that the current funding of private abortion businesses with taxpayer money violates Canadian law &#8220;which forbids the government from funding abortions outside of approved public hospitals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/people-disabilities-speak-assisted-suicide-canada\/\">People with disabilities speak out against assisted suicide expansion in Canada<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The March encourages pro-life advocacy, directing participants to groups such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.choice42.com\/\">Choice 42<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sistersoflife.org\/\">Sisters of Life<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.40daysforlife.com\/en\/\">40 Days for Life<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RRoYp5_dT5U&amp;feature=emb_logo\">Life Chain<\/a>. It also encouraged advocacy opposing euthanasia and assisted suicide.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/disturbing-details-canada-bill-expand-assisted-suicide\/\">assisted suicide lobby<\/a>\u00a0has gained notable momentum in the country in recent years, as evident in the country&#8217;s\u00a0recently passed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/vulnerable-groups-canada-plead-assisted-suicide\/\">Bill C-7<\/a>. The March notes that &#8220;when <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/canada-medical-schools-euthanasia\/\">euthanasia<\/a> was legalized under the guise of &#8216;medical aid in dying&#8217; (MAiD) in June 2016, it was inconceivable that in less than 5 years Canada would expand euthanasia to people with mental illness alone and yet <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/people-disabilities-speak-assisted-suicide-canada\/\">Bill C-7<\/a> passed on March 15 (of this year) with that provision.&#8221; The country is also reportedly moving toward &#8220;child euthanasia, euthanasia for (legally) incompetent people who requested it in their advance directive&#8221; as well as &#8220;protocols for killing people with mental illness by euthanasia.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the physical <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.ca\/march-for-life-week-schedule\/\">march<\/a>\u00a0and rally that will take place in person on May 13 with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCTO7pYzIIP8u6ApRHtCsI6g\">virtual attendance<\/a> option through the March&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCTO7pYzIIP8u6ApRHtCsI6g\">YouTube page<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.ca\/event\/candlelight-vigil\/\">Candlelight Vigil<\/a>\u00a0will be held the night before and Catholic Masses for Life will be offered throughout Canada from May 10-14.
